As Xdinary Heroes gains more popularity as an indie band, their schedules become increasingly busy. The demands of their rising success begin to take a toll on their lead singer, Jungsu, who finds himself putting in long hours practicing and composing new music for the group.
The other members became increasingly concerned about Jungsu's well-being as he continued to push himself to the limit with his work ethic. Despite their reservations and worried glances, Jungsu remained resolute in his decision to proceed with a recording session. Assuring his bandmates that he was in good health, Jungsu's determination and dedication to his craft only seemed to intensify.
"Jungsu, I think we need to get some rest. You're so pale today; are you even okay to record? "Gunil asked him worriedly.
"It's okay, hyung. Don't worry," Jungsu tried to reassure the leader.
As they continued with their recording, Jungsu began to feel increasingly hot and sweaty, accompanied by the onset of a pounding headache. As time passed, Jungsu suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed. The other members quickly sprang into action, carefully moving Jungsu to the couch as Seungmin dialed for an ambulance to come to their aid.
After ten minutes had passed, the paramedics finally arrived on the scene and carefully lifted Jungsu onto a stretcher. Upon reaching the hospital, Jungsu was swiftly taken to a private room, where he was able to rest and recuperate. The other members of the group arrived shortly after, anxious to check on their friend and offer their support during this difficult time.
During his hospital rounds, Jooyeon was assigned to the new patient. Upon meeting the band, he informed them about Jungsu's condition. Hyeongjun's concern was evident in his voice. "Is he going to be okay?"
Jooyeon gazed at him with gentle reassurance, assuring him that everything would be okay. "He'll be fine. It's about overfatigue, and he has a high fever. For now, he needs some rest."
The band breathed a collective sigh of relief upon hearing the news, and they proceeded to bow before entering Jungsu's room. Once inside, they each found a comfortable spot to sit or stand, with the exception of their keyboardist, who was still fast asleep.
While taking a brief respite in the lobby, Jiseok overheard whispers from the nurses about the presence of an indie artist in the hospital. He chided them for neglecting their duties, prompting icy glares in his direction. "Mind your own business," Jiseok said, walking out of the hall.
Jiseok hurriedly made his way to the cafeteria, knowing he needed to eat quickly before heading to the operating room with the rest of the interns for surgery. After hastily finishing his meal, he rushed out of the cafeteria and collided with another person in his haste.
"Jiseok, do you work here?" said the man who bumped into him. Jiseok looked in the direction and saw that it was Seungmin he met.
"Something like that. Anyway, I have to go," Jiseok answered quickly.
After running into Jiseok, Seungmin decided to grab some food from the cafeteria before heading back to Jungsu's room. When he arrived, Jungsu was already awake.
Gunil suggested that it would be wise for us to inform you "that it is imperative for you to refrain from overexerting yourself at this moment. It is crucial that you take some time to rest, Su."
"Earlier, we were extremely concerned about you. You actually passed out right in the middle of our recording session," Hyeongjun expressed with a sense of urgency and worry in his voice. As a result, Jungsu couldn't help but feel a twinge of guilt for causing his bandmates to be concerned.
"I'm sorry for making you all worried," Jungsu said as he looked guilty at his members.
"You don't have to apologize," Gunil said, patting Jungsu on the head.
After a brief thirty minutes, Jooyeon returned to Jungsu's bedside to assess his condition. Jungsu's face lit up with joy at the sight of Jooyeon, grateful for the care and attention he was receiving.
Jooyeon approached the situation with professionalism, inquiring about Jungsu's current state of health. Feeling the tension in the air, the group decided to leave the room in order to give the former romantic partners some privacy.
"Hey, Joo," Jungsu greeted.
Jooyeon maintained a neutral expression as he greeted Jungsu, following proper professional etiquette. Despite any personal feelings, he acknowledged him with courtesy and respect. "Good afternoon, Mr. Kim. I'll just check your vital signs and call a nurse, intern, or doctor if you need anything," Jooyeon replied.
"Can we talk?" Jungsu weekly replied.
"We can't talk right now; I'm in the middle of work, and I need to hurry to the operating room to assist with a procedure. Sorry, I'm just really busy at the moment," Jooyeon tiredly replied.
"Okay. Maybe some other time?" Jungsu asked.
Despite his initial hesitation, Jooyeon ultimately agreed and nodded. He then promptly left the room and made his way to the operating room in order to observe and lend a helping hand.
Jungsu let out a deep sigh as he observed Jooyeon gracefully exit his room, leaving him feeling a mix of emotions. Not long after, the rest of the members returned to his room, filling the space with their presence once again.
"Well, he still doesn't want to talk to me," Jungsu said.
"Just give him some time, Su. He's not ready to face you yet," Seungmin answered calmly.
