Chapter 5- who is telling the truth
Ares and Hepaestus began looking around the place it was completely ransacked, the whole place was turned upside down yet it seemed that was the plan all along, to leave the place in such a chaotic state that no one in their right mind would even dare to think that they would return to the place. That might have worked on anyone else but not on the god of the forge or the god of war, they both knew dam well that something wasn't right here. They knew it was all staged with possibly the help of their younger siblings and cousins and the other demi-gods under that man's control. Both men were seething in anger. How dare whoever this is do that to them. They walked around looking for anything that could be of use. They moved, basically every thing in the room was placed there for them to find but there had to be something that they forgot to move or even give them a little idea of what could be happening. They searched for a good while until Hepaestus found something: a pin that was in the shape of a pocket watch, it was attached to a bit of fabric clearly from the villain's cloak. “Well it seems that we have a belonging of his. I highly doubt he left it here on purpose” said Ares, crossing his arms. “I agree brother, let's hope more will come to light soon.”
The big three and their wives walked into the infirmary and looked over at their children who were all now standing huddled together wearing the same clothes they had on during the battle. The torn fabrics lay on their thin frames carelessly. The sight made all the parents feel guilt rush through their whole bodies for so long their children had suffered by the hands of that man. Years of their lives taken. Eventually, the children took notice of their parents, they all looked at them with dead expressions covering their features. There was no sadness, anger, joy, worry anything. There was nothing in their eyes. “Perhaps they are just coming to terms with everything.''Hera suggested quietly looping her arm around her husbands who placed his hand on top of hers gently hoping she was right.
“We want to see the others.” said percy in a sharp tone startling his mother and father with the tone of voice he was using. All the others had the same look on their faces, no emotion at all but it was clear they too wanted the same thing as the son of poseidon. “What others exactly?” Hades asked. “The others in our team.” snapped Thalia who avoided any sort of eye contact. “Oh well yes we can show you to their rooms if you would like.”
“Yes” they all said in unison.
The parents walked over to the area the others were in and as soon as their children spotted them they rushed forwards talking to all of them in hushed whispers not paying any attention to their parents at all. “We should leave them for a moment?” Amphitrite suggested as she pulled her husband out the room gently.
“WHAT!”the others yelled after hearing what the big three kids had to say. “Are they telling the truth?” Zoe asked
“Not a clue but how can we be sure?” Jason said, looking towards the door knowing that their parents were right outside.
“They have lied before” Ethan snarled
“Whos to say they aren’t lying now” stated luke
“I hate this. This place, the camps they are or were our homes but yet it doesn't feel right anymore. We went against the man who we owed so much to. Hell he brought most of us back to life.” Bianca said, her voice breaking a bit as she struggled to understand what her mind wanted. All of them were having a similar battle in their heads. It was all so confusing. Yes they helped the olympians win the battle but it felt wrong and they don't know why.
Soon enough their parents entered, giving them all new clothes and explaining that they will all live with their immortal parents or in zoes case with the hunters. None were too pleased yet they agreed anyway for that is what survival was.
