Jungkook’s fingers clenched tightly at the hem of Taehyung’s soaked shirt, knuckles pale as if holding onto the last thread of control. He could feel those rough lips drawing closer—closer to his own soft petals. The heat between them was suffocating, maddening.
Each breath Taehyung exhaled came with a rush of warmth, brushing against Jungkook’s lips—carried with the light mist of water droplets falling from his wet hair. He felt it all... the heat, the moisture, the tremble in the air. His cheeks burned with that rising warmth, and it wasn’t long before it traveled to his ears, making them glow a soft red.
His heart thundered in his chest, clenched so tightly it felt like it could shatter with just one more second of tension. And yet, he didn’t move. He couldn’t. Because for the first time in his life… he didn’t want to.
"You should take a shower first. I’ll use your room’s washroom..." The words echoed relentlessly in Jungkook’s mind, but still—he didn’t back away, nor did he open his eyes. The warmth of that breath, so dangerously close, had begun to fade from his face… and the grip that once held his bare waist was slowly disappearing—vanishing like the touch of a delicate flower petal brushing against damp skin.
Yet he could still feel it. The faint movement of those hands trailing along his wet waist sent shivers crawling up his spine. Goosebumps bloomed along his skin, spreading from where those fingers danced lightly, as if playing a haunting melody. His breath hitched—completely halted—when one fingertip just barely touched the curve of his belly button. It was too much. Too intimate. Too consuming.
Then, just like that, the warmth was gone. The wet body that had been pressed against his own tiny frame pulled away. His eyes fluttered open with a soft blink, only to find himself alone—staring at the closed door the man had disappeared through. He stood frozen in the silence, heart racing wildly beneath his ribs, as he slowly raised his small palm to hold it... to calm it... though it refused to listen.
Why… why was he feeling this way toward his best friend? He had been by his side since he was five. Back then too, they were always together—but never once did he feel anything like this. So why now? What changed?
It wasn’t the first time he saw Taehyung’s face wet. He had seen it countless times—when Taehyung washed his face, or when they got drenched in the rain, laughing like idiots. He had seen his wet body, his eyes, his smile... everything. Then what was it about today that made something inside him shift?
Was this... attraction? That strange pull people talk about? The feeling that creeps in at a certain age, stirring something unfamiliar in your chest whenever you look at someone… was that what was happening to him too? But why couldn’t he understand it properly? Why did all his thoughts lead to more confusion?
Why wasn’t his mind helping him figure it out?
And what about Taehyung? What was in his heart at that moment? Did his tiger feel the same strange spark—the one he felt under his touch?
Were their feelings aligned?
No. No—he couldn’t ask that. He shouldn’t.
He didn’t want to make his tiger uncomfortable. He couldn’t risk it—not over a stupid, fleeting moment.
Yes. That’s what it was. Just a stupid mistake. A slip of emotion. Something to be forgotten. They would stay the same—just like always. That was the safest thing to do. Right?
While all these thoughts ran wild in Jungkook’s deep mind, he finally stepped into the shower—unaware that a poor soul was still standing outside the door, heart pounding heavily in his chest, refusing to calm down.
Taehyung’s heartbeat is still racing—just like the bunny’s. The same thoughts Jungkook was struggling with were swirling inside his own mind. The same questions, the same confusion. Like Jungkook, he too couldn’t find the answer—because the truth was buried deep inside both their hearts and minds.
