Jungkook sat on the floor, covering his mouth with his palms as tears streamed down his face. He thought about his worst situation—something that always seemed to happen to him. Every time he found even a little happiness, pain came hunting him in every possible way. Why? Why was everyone against him, making his life so difficult? What had he done to deserve so much suffering?
His lonely life made him feel trapped in the past, unable to move forward or heal. Even when he finally found a new life with a new family—one that was supposed to bring him back to life and help him forget the worst parts of his past—it still didn’t happen. No one had ever truly accepted him.
His tears fell harder, but suddenly his eyes widened as he heard footsteps running back and forth outside the cabin. He quickly reached for his phone to call his husband, only to realize it had switched off earlier that afternoon—he hadn’t had time to charge it. That realization made him cry even more.
After some time, when he didn’t hear any sound from outside, he began to relax. Slowly, he moved toward the door and opened it carefully. Peeking his head out, he scanned the area—there was no one in sight. Gathering all his courage, he stepped outside and ran toward the elevator, desperate to see his husband as soon as possible. He felt himself slipping, knowing he couldn’t stay strong much longer without Taehyung nearby. His breath remained heavy, and his head spun fiercely. He rested his back against the elevator wall, clutching his aching chest. As he pressed the button. But then, his eyes suddenly widened again when he saw the man standing right in front of him, staring directly into his own.
Taehyung and Lisa were waiting in the parking area. Lisa is sitting inside the car, her eyes fixed on her brother who stood in front of the elevator, watching its numbers drop slowly. Taehyung stood there anxiously, an odd feeling crawling through him, his heartbeat growing faster for reasons he couldn’t explain. His tense expression softened slightly when the elevator doors finally opened—but confusion quickly replaced it. The elevator was empty. He stepped forward and checked inside, but his husband wasn’t there. His heart, already on edge, began to pound again—this time with a wave of fresh anxiety.
Taehyung rubbed his forehead, his heart pounding painfully in his chest. A dark thought crossed his mind—something bad must have happened to his husband. Without wasting a second, he pressed the elevator button and rushed inside, hitting the button for the 40th floor.
Lisa stepped out of the car, her brows furrowed in concern. She hadn't seen Jungkook, and now her brother had suddenly left without a word. A sense of unease settled in her chest as she stared at the closing elevator doors.
Meanwhile, Jungkook was struggling desperately in the arms of the man who held him tightly, the cold blade of a knife pressed against his neck—so close that a thin line of blood was already trailing down his skin. His small hands gripped the man's wrist, trembling as he tried to push the knife away, but the man was far stronger than him. No matter how hard he tried, Jungkook couldn't break free. Still, he didn't stop—his body kept twisting and turning, doing everything to escape.
Sensing his grip loosening due to Jungkook’s frantic movements, the man growled under his breath and yanked Jungkook even closer, wrapping his arm around the younger's waist to restrain him fully. Jungkook whimpered, his breath hitching, eyes wide with fear. The metallic scent of his own blood filled the air, but he still refused to give in.
“If you surrender willingly and listen to me, I won’t hurt you,” the man growled, his voice dark and terrifying. “But if you resist even a little… I’ll plunge this knife into your stomach and make you feel every ounce of that pain before I drag you away.”
His words were venomous, Jungkook’s breath hitched violently, his eyes wide in terror. His body was trembling uncontrollably, and his knees were barely holding him up. The world around him was spinning, and he felt the last bit of strength leaving his limbs. His skin turned cold when he felt the knife being lowered from his throat to his stomach—its sharp tip pressing deeply against him, threatening to pierce through. His heartbeat was loud in his ears, and he knew if Taehyung didn’t come now… he might not survive more time.
