A/N: I don't own Smallville or any characters and places in the DC universe. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contain from.

I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is to get a creative outlet going.

I only own Tyla Nevin and what pertains to her character story.

Clark followed the blonde woman through the forest near Reeves Dam. It might have been a couple of weeks for the debris to be completely cleared. All it left was a fumble of the forest trying to regrow itself to its former glory. But it didn't stop Tyla from trying to find out if anything else may have been left unforgotten. She had a feeling that there was a missing piece to the puzzle.

"Tyla, you've had a near-death experience. You should be resting," he eyed the blue cast on her left arm. The bandages may have been cleared and she was back in her home, but it didn't mean that he was out here with her for just a hike. She lost her balance three times already and he had to hold her up from breaking her other arm. "What are we even doing out here?"

"Hey....no one asked you to come with me to help Lex out of this," she replied, inching her way towards the banks of the river. "Not that I appreciate it."

He looked around, hearing her almost trip on a rock. He sped over and grasped at her good arm. A knowing look was shared between them. "It seems to be dangerous for you out here," he said. "Besides, it gives me a good opportunity to say goodbye." He dragged the last word out, feeling uncomfortable that he had already let himself be emotional.

Tyla chuckled, only for her face to fall at the news that he was leaving. "What do you mean goodbye?" She asked.

"Ty Ty, I'm leaving Smallville.... after Lana's funeral."

She bit her bottom lip and looked down at her feet. "That soon, huh?" She couldn't think of anything else to say.

"I have to go up north. The fortress.... It seems like it's the place to be right now. Especially because I found out I can fly."

Tyla blinked. "Oh...about time you got to that," she teased, alluding to the powers that she had given to Clark. She gave him a sly smirk before she continued to look around the river.

Clark mockingly laughed. "Well.... not everyone could just "see"-" he started to say but he watched as she sighed. "What's wrong?"

"I think we got turned around. How did we get here last time?" She turned around to look at him.

"We used the bridge?" The one that was destroyed now.

"Okay, we have to go southeast," she replied, exasperated. "Lex said that he entered the dam southeast and it led straight underground. He said it was completely hidden so with our luck, I'm sure I can scrounge up something." She motioned him to follow her and then started to, now carefully, walk around the bank. For a few minutes, they went deeper into the woods until they saw a large object, partially concealed under the brush of foliage. "What is that?" She asked, taking a step closer.

Clark followed her and then started to gasp. He felt the air taken from him. He looked down to see kryptonite rocks as Tyla continued to walk forward. He distanced himself and watched as she stripped away the brush. A large red metallic spaceship glinted back at her. Kryptonian symbols shone in gold and glittered as she swiped her fingers across them. "Clark...are you seeing what I think this is?" She turned around to look at a sickly-looking Clark. "Clark? Are you okay?" She looked down and around the brush. There was only one type of rock that made him feel like this.
