A/N: I don't own Smallville or any characters and places in the DC universe. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contain from.

I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is simply to get a creative outlet going.

I only own Tyla Nevin and what pertains to her character story.

Her head pounded, incessantly. Coming back from Washington so early in the morning shouldn't be in the cards for her and yet here she was at the Talon, the familiar grounds of coffee wafting around her. As much as her need to steady her contacts was, it was a surprise to see Martha Kent settling into her duties as Senator in D.C. It gave her an impromptu extension to her stay, but it was well worth it. Enough that she was picking up her choice of coffee before she was reunited with her husband. She drummed her fingers against the countertop and looked around. She took a deep breath. Ever since she told Lex that she wanted to leave Smallville, she was seeing the places that she had frequented in a new light.

She didn't know where they would go. She didn't know if it would be past the suburbs of Metropolis. She didn't know if she would be in the same state. All she knew was that her time here had an expiry date and Lex was in full agreement. She sighed, feeling her headache drift down to her chest. The money that she sold with the shares would be more than enough to open her practice. Humanitarian crisis management, she had done it before. Her roots were what she needed. Deep in thought, she turned around and collided with a blonde woman. "Ah!" She yelped, jumping back as hot coffee spilled down on her shoes. Immediately, she kicked off her black pumps before she turned back to grab napkins.

"I am so sorry," the blonde woman said, taking the napkins and picking up the shoes to wipe them down. "I shouldn't have done that."

"No, I wasn't paying attenti-" Tyla's eyes widened. "You...." She was staring straight at the woman who fished her out of the water. The same woman who all but tried to knock Clark out of the way when they found the spaceship.

Before she could say something else, Clark jogged over to them. "Ty Ty," he said. "You remember my cousin, right?"

An incredulous look passed to Clark before looking back to the other woman who looked at her cousin with an amused tone. "I should have known," Tyla mumbled, taking one of the shoes from the girl and wiping the coffee off the shiny surface. She held back a smirk but it didn't go unnoticed by the "cousin".

"Does everyone know about you?" The woman said.

Clark rolled his eyes. "Kara, Tyla, Tyla, Kara," he motioned between them. "I'm to train her now." The woman watched as Tyla nodded, slowly. "She was a clairvoyant."

With that, Kara's eyes widened. "That's only needed when the world is in serious trouble," she exclaimed, causing the other two to look around uncomfortably.

"You hide it better," Tyla mumbled before taking the other now-dried shoe for the woman. She looked her over, she was much more petite than Clark. Even so, her frail frame would be underestimated. She wore the red uniform of the Talon but the look on her face was more overwhelmed from processing everything. "And right now, I'm in serious need of a cappuccino and a latte."

Clark cleared his throat. "I'll get that for you," he said. "It's Kara's first day and if you're running for the boss..." He walked off, leaving the two women to speak.

"The boss?" Kara raised her eyebrow. "Oh, he means the owner of this place."

"My husband, Lex Luthor," Tyla smiled. "Not to cross him with his coffee." She glanced over to Clark who motioned to a girl at the bar. "Well...lots of things can't be crossed."
