A/N: I don't own Smallville or any characters and places in the DC universe. Nor do I own the episodes that these chapters are based on and contained from.

I also don't claim to be a writer. My inspiration is simply to get a creative outlet going.

I only own Tyla Nevin and what pertains to her character story.

"Four bedrooms, three bathrooms, complete with a front and backyard," the real estate agent spoke as she opened the doors to what was probably the third house the Luthors had seen. "Perfect for starting a family, and Mr. Luthor, there is the added privacy and seclusion that adds to this neighborhood. I suspect you would appreciate that."

Lex walked in and looked around. He made a face back towards Tyla who tried not to giggle. He would more than appreciate no one barging in unannounced, or single intruders trying to impede on the life he was trying to have. Based on the loops that they had to go through to get into this particular stretch of suburb, he had confidence that it wouldn't be easy as it was now. The mansion's grounds were being used for a scene in the upcoming movie, Warrior Angel. As an avid fan, he wouldn't say no. But with the growing attention from it, in addition to the paparazzi that already hovered for the latest Luthor news, the Timber Hills district was more than quiet.

He hesitantly walked into what would have been the living room and looked out towards the front yard. He ignored the real estate agent's attempts to persuade him with the fact that he wouldn't be the only celebrity in the neighborhood that was seeking solitude. The place already seemed like the blank slate that he wanted.

"Babe?" He turned around, seeing Tyla and the agent hovering in the dining room. They watched him expectantly as if he had the final say. It would have been distracting except his silence was telling his wife everything. She gave a small sigh and then turned towards the agent. "Can you give us a moment to look around by ourselves?" She asked.

"Oh of course," the real estate agent flicked her vibrant red hair before walking down towards the dining room. "I'll just be outside." She flipped open her phone to make a few calls leaving Tyla to walk over to him.

"You hate this," Tyla assumed, taking her hand in his.

Lex shook his head slowly. "No..." he replied. He squeezed her hand and looked down at the wedding band. "I didn't expect that it would actually be real." In truth, this place was exactly how he had pictured their home to be. "I thought I would forever be at the manor."

"You can if you wanted to conduct business there," Tyla suggested. But it was a stretch, they both knew it.

"My father would sooner move there," he said as he knelt down to rest his hands on Tyla's stomach. "He doesn't even know that we have you to wait for." The last sentence was a mumble against the fabric of her blouse.

Tyla shook her head. "They can't hear you yet," she explained. "They're not even the size of your fingernail." She looked around the empty room before she spoke again. "He's going to find out eventually, Lex. I won't look like this for long." She was expecting to look like a blimp sooner rather than later, based on her frame.

Lex chuckled. Their child might not even be aware of the world, but he was determined to protect them from the lulls of LuthorCorp. "No, you will look even more beautiful," he hummed. Tyla gave him a face that could only indicate how much of a charmer he was. "And our baby will know just how hard their mother worked to make sure they have all of this."

"Part of it is you, you know," she said, walking over towards the back of the home to look out at the vast backyard. It was its own forest back there. "As of next month, I am no longer a LuthorCorp employee."
