Y/n's POV :
It was night time of the same day, the island was still celebrating their festival, I was on the small hut as Marco had to go help some wounded nakamas
"Come in?" Asked a voice, the owner was Ace
I looked at him as I nodded without saying a word
"Did you eat?" He asked
I shook my head
... He sighed
"Let's drop the long chat" He said as I looked at him
"Hug me?" He invited me with open arms as I gladly took the offer
I put my thighs on top and I was literally in his lap now
"Why does all bad things happen to me?" I asked, pissed at my Luck
"Maybe because we are related" He replied in an even serious tone which made me laugh harder
"ACE YOU IDIOT IT'S NOT THE TIME TO BRING YOUR DADDY ISSUES" I laughed some more
He looked at me seriously at first before ending up laughing too
"Wanna take a walk? The summer festival is close to its end" He said
"Let's go" I said as he grabbed my hand and we both began walking
We really were late, it was now time for the fireworks
"When I was a kid, I was always afraid of them, I used to think as I can fly maybe they will catch up to me when I am up in the sky" I said as Ace looked at me and the fireworks went off to the sky
"I used to stop flying and baba used to carry me in his shoulders, on the other hand Marco used to help cover my ears and Aoto... Used to grab into my hand tight"
"It was the safest I used to feel, however they are gone now, my homes... " I started to feel down again as Ace hugged me now
"When I was a child... I used to have another brother, Sabo, however he passed away for some nobels.... He was my only friend growing up till Luffy came.... I was sure that my world is ending and I am gonna die trying to avenge him, Look at me now, I healed so much from that event that even the girl I love got to know about him just now"
I stared at him before answering
"Ace you are unexpectedly good with motivations"
"WHAT WAS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?" He asked angry.
..
I was being strong, yeah I am handling it well... crying once or twice in front of everyone or Ace was no big deal! I am gonna make sure to not repeat the mistake
We were walking back to the ship when Ace said
"Y/n...you know when me and Aoto had to share the same cell?" He asked
"Yeah?"
"... He told me some things"
"Yeah but you never told me what he said"
"Mhm, he said... "
*Flashback*
"You are.... In the Whitebeard's?" He asked
"Why? Got a grudge?" Ace asked
"Haha, maybe?" He laughed, he is weird...
"Say, you are the second commander right?"
I raised a brow
"Yeah?"
"Second in command after the Captain?"
"Yeah?"
"You must know about her?" He asked
"..... Her?"
....
"Guess not" He laughed more to himself
..
"However, you seem reliable" Aoto began again
"Listen, if you manage to get away from here alive and get to know her....... Take care of her" He said
"No, you will, yeah, Ba- no, Whitebeard won't lose, they just don't know how to, so do keep my request okay? You are a nice guy as far as I judged till now" He added, not giving me the chance to talk
"What are you even talking about dude?" I asked confused
He just gave a small smile
"You will connect the dots as soon as you see her"
...
I didn't bothered to reply anymore, however his last words were
"Do take care, or else I am gonna have to interfere"
He said the last line before I was getting taken out to take to marineford
..
... Aoto was protecting me even while inside of Impel Down
..
I ended up crying
God I know I said I will be strong however this doesn't really help!
"Y/n, if you cry I am gonna fail my promise" He said
I nodded yes
"Ace...... I love you" I said as he seemed like he stopped breathing for a second
"I love you more... Y/n" He replied, looking straight into my eyes
I know it was a kissing moment however I can't bring myself to it currently, I hugged him tight as if he was my oxygen and he returned it back
...
That night, I fell asleep while hugging Ace in my bed, he feels warm
Like an existence which has been sended by Baba just for me
