CARLOS and Oscar don't usually get along on the track, but, they can put their on-track qualms aside for a little while—or, at least that's what Maia is assuming their plans are for the night.

He won in Australia, 'He' being Carlos and not Oscar. Was Oscar bitter about it? Not as much as Maia expected him to be. Maybe it was because Lando got a podium and he got P4, which seemed to be more than fine with him.

'Record Breaker Oscar Piastri' would have been cool though, and she thinks that wholeheartedly.

Despite the end of the race, Oscar had still gladly accepted the invite that was sent in the driver's groupchat, which sent by Carlos dedicated to anyone who might have wanted to come along—and, yes, Oscar did in fact give her a rundown for why Carlos was blocked on his phone, which led to her trying to convince him through a laugh that maybe it was time to unblock him after his win.

At the dinner, most of the drivers turned up, some with their partners as well, which easily made Maia feel a lot better. She had chatted with Alexandra a bit, exchanging words about their majors and experiences, and also about how Alex and Charles were in the process of getting a puppy. (Maia doesn't even like dogs, but from the photos she was shown, she even has to admit that the small dog—Leo, as Alex and Charles were calling him—looked cute.)

But that conversation was over, and now she, Alexandra, and basically the entire table were engrossed in Max's retelling of his unfortunate race end, and it's funny how lax he is about it now compared to how he was when it had actually happened.

"...it's whatever now, you know? But, I just hope they can get us back on track by the next weekend," Max finishes with a sigh and a smile, earning some smiles back from the others at the table.

"Redbull's downfall is incoming everyone!" Lando cheers with little honesty, lightly shaking his fist while everyone laughs at his words. "I genuinely think Ferrari might have you guys beat soon."

As Max, with Checo in support, begins to sputter defenses for their team's recent performance, Maia turns his head to look at Oscar, who was sat next to her quietly with a grin as he watched his gridmates quarrel and fight.

He looks happy, calm, and Maia isn't sure if it's because of the conversation topic—or if it was because of his hand that was resting on her thigh.

Because, yes, they did really speak about their relationship status; and it went better than it had back when Oscar confessed the first time.
