the way you rejected his flirtatious remarks EVERY SINGLE TIME just fueled his eagerness to get to know you since you were the first girl to ever reject him like that.

you met soda actually in the oddest way.
your younger siblings and you were arguing over who would get the last cherry lollipop in the convenience store. this resulted in your mother yelling at you for not being fair to your younger siblings since you were the oldest. soda had conveniently walked by the whole chaos outburst and started to think of his siblings. you noticed him looking and walked away with your face red as a tomato.

"my little brother ponyboy acts the same, so don't feel embarrassed beautiful"

"you stood there trying to hold in your laugh i saw you"

you would see him occasionally sitting in front of his house.

you already knew it was for the same reason every time since the look on his face was always stressed and over-worked. even though he always had that tired look on his face, he was never too tired to not smile at you every time you strolled by on your roller skates.

"another stressful day huh"

"yes, but your beautiful face makes up for it"

you met him through a job interview at Dingos.

you were sitting there eating and watching the owner of Dingos question him on why he had a million other jobs before and wasn't able to keep a single one. the whole situation was so funny that you almost choked on your milkshake hearing him bs the reasons for why he couldnt keep them.

"oh so you thought it was funny watching an innocent man like me struggle"

"yeah cause it made perfect sense when you said how your last boss fired you for quote on quote, borrowing tons of snacks at the store"

"well duh borrowing doesn't mean stealing silly"

you met him at his workplace trying to find some snacks to make up for your period cramps.

every step you took you would grunt and whisper out "shit" which made him suspicious of what you were doing. you kept noticing him staring at you from the corner of your eyes which enraged you since your period makes you more moody than normal.

"dude what the fuck are you looking at"

"maybe cause you're making weird noises damn don't need to be so hostile"

a group of socials were bullying him and you coincidentally walked by as it was happening.

luckily you were wearing a short shirt that day with a tight-fitting shirt, so you used that as an advantage to lure the socials away from him. you pulled down your shirt a bit and pulled up your skirt confidently tapping on Bob's shoulder. this obviously worked since Bob's and his gang's eyes started to wander all over your body. you gave ponyboy a wink indicating it was his cue to run off.

"thank you for that, you really didn't have to help me"

"oh honey do you not understand what they could've done to your handsome little face"

you've known johnny since birth and always gave him food and a place to stay since you only lived with your nana. johnny only ever felt comfortable enough to come to you for help because you always did your best to make him feel loved since none of his parents were able to give that to him. there would be times when he would feel guilty for always coming to you, but you always reassured him it was okay.

"johnny you know that my home is also your home, don't ever feel like you can't come here"

"but i can't ever repay you with anything"

"just seeing your face is enough for me love"
