I would try anything just to be a kid again.That was the only thing I wished for ever since my downfall, Either kids thought I was scary or that I shouldn't be apart of the critters at all.A purple cat,a smile at times.Mute most of the times.I was always the forgotten one in the crew.Was I really a monster to everyone? I question myself that. A lot,I doubt there was ever a kid that liked me.
As I was at the lounge,I watched as kids were doing the activities with other critters except me,I wonder why I was even kicked out of it.I couldn't talk much even if my vocal chords worked at some points,I only get told that all I do is sleep,which is the thing I do most of all because of my own self. I wonder on looking at the kids being all joyful and happy.Until a kid comes up to me and sits in front of me,he had a mix of blondish and light brown hair, some sapphire eyes.He looked more like a orphan than the other kids.He then waved at me.I tilted my head,why was he in front of me.Why was he here. Why isn't he talking or smiling? Then it strikes me,if he's in front of me, as well not doing anything.
He must be mute.
I then looked around until he signed to me.
'Pierson mute.'
His name must be Pierson.I wonder a bit,I could try doing activities with him. He seems to be the only kid to be mute. I then pick him up and look around. All of the kids have gone outside for everyone's activities,I looked at the kid once again.He stared back then to the door.I went to my room with him in hand,grabbing a chalkboard and some colored chalk walking outside when I finished. I knew since he couldn't talk,it wouldn't be easy to do anything.So I thought about giving him a word and he draws the image of what he thinks it is. He seems smart enough for it,about 3-5 years old,I could guess. Poor soul.
Then I felt a light tap on my shoulder.
'Hey Catnap! I didn't know you were watching kids or doing activities with any.'
Dogday said,I looked at the kid,who was drawing a flower then sighed.
'He's mute.'
I said rubbing the back of my neck,Dogday looked rather surprised.
'Really ? He looks smart for his age.'
He said as I shrugged and then Pierson,who looked back and finished drawing,I then wrote another word on the board and he drew it,a car.
'Isn't he adorable?'
Dogday said speaking again as his tail wagged and he smiled.
'You could say so,I just feel bad that he can't speak for someone his age.'
He then looked at me and tilted his head in confusion,
'Catnap you know if he wasn't then you wouldn't have anyone to do activities with.Usually you don't,and now you have a little friend who can understand.Who wouldn't wish for someone to understand them like you? You really are a good person.'
He said chuckling as I just smiled a bit,Continuing the activity with the kid.
'I could say I'm lucky,but I really don't deserve him,honestly he would be better off with Crafty or rather you. As well you better get going. The kids must be waiting.'
He then nodded and snuggled me a bit in a hug then left. Ah..I wonder what to do now.I looked back at the kid. Who drew what looks like a mini drawing.He then tried to write my name and his,giving me the drawing.
'Thanks.'
I said snickering a bit as I picked him up and carried him to the diner room for lunch.
I wish I could thank Dogday for this..
