The following are rules & guidelines for any community member submitting a Book Review.

Rules:

- Submit Feedback using our google form. (ask for the link on discord)
- Feedback should be submitted with the full written review, in your own words, along with the total points for each category (see below).

Be Honest

- Provide truthful and constructive feedback.
- Avoid being overly harsh or unnecessarily negative.

Be Respectful

- Respect the author's effort and creativity.
- Avoid personal attacks on the author.

Be Specific

- Give specific examples to support your points.
- Avoid vague statements.

Stay Objective

- Focus on the book's content and quality.
- Avoid letting personal preferences overly influence your review.

Follow Guidelines

- Adhere to the review criteria and rules.
- Ensure your review is structured and organized.

Encourage Improvement

- Offer suggestions for improvement where needed.
- Highlight the book's strengths and potential areas for growth.

Be Consistent

- Apply the same criteria and standards to all books.
- Maintain a consistent tone and approach in your reviews.

The following is the point system and criteria Book Reveiwers will use. Each category has points that can be given. You may give half points. Turn in points for each category, the total points, and a written review of the book you chose. You must read at least ten chapters to submit a review. Books can receive up to 60 points total.

Plot (8 points total)

- Is the plot engaging and well-developed? (5 Points)
- Are there any plot holes or inconsistencies? (3 Points)

Characters (11 points total)

- Are the characters well-developed and believable? (5 Points)
- Do the characters show growth and development throughout the story? (3 Points)
- Are the relationships between characters well-explored? (3 Points)

Writing Style (10 points total)

- Is the writing clear and easy to follow? (4 Points)
- Are there any grammar or spelling errors? (3 Points)
- Does the author have a unique voice? (3 Points)

Pacing (6 points total)

- Is the story well-paced? (3 Points)
- Does the story move too quickly or too slowly at any point?/Are there any parts that feel unnecessary or dragged out? (3 Points)

Themes (6 points total)

- Are the themes of the story well-integrated and explored? (3 Points)
- Do the themes add depth to the story? (3 Points)

Dialogue (7 points total)

- Is the dialogue realistic and engaging? (4 Points)
- Does the dialogue add to character development and plot progression? (3 Points)

Originality (6 points total)

- Is the story original and creative? (3 Points)
- Does it stand out from other books in the same genre? (3 Points)

*Fan-Fictions are to be graded on originality as the story stands. 

Emotional Impact (6 points total)

- Does the story evoke strong emotions? (3 Points)
- Are the emotional moments well-written and impactful? (3 Points)
