Author POV

"You're acting like the toilet will eat you up " the shorter tease.

"Excuse me!? " the taller said disgusted.

"You are excused " the shorter rolled her eyes.

"I'm trying my best to clean " Shirley said annoyed.

"Trying your best to clean!?? The only thing you're doing is standing and stretching your hand to clean turning your head away" the shorter complained. "Is that what you call cleaning? ".

"Excuse me!! I'm doing what I'm doing, that's none of your business " Shirley yelled back.

"But at least do it properly! "

"Then you do all the work, I'll give you money " Shirley suggested.

Kerissa just looked at her dumbfounded.

"Are you out of your mind? Do you think money can solve everything??!! " Kerissa asked now fuming.

"Chill I was just asking "

"Chill!!? How the fuck am I suppose to chill when you think that money can always solve problems and on top of that You! being all so disgusted to even clean the toilet that you use!! " Kerissa yelled in anger.

Now it was Shirley's turn to be dumbfounded. They do bicker a lot but she has never seen Kerissa furious to the point that she would scream.

"Chill chill, I didn't mean it in that way" Shirley confronted. "Okay then I'll clean properly " she continued now bending down to properly clean.

Kerissa was kinda shocked that Shirley even bothered to listen to her. Kerissa also continued her work while calming herself down.

They did their own work in silence. So after finishing cleaning, both of them quietly left.

Kerissa left first. It kinda shocked her too about her yelling at the other. She wanted to apologize but didn't since that would be lowering her pride.

Basketball practice was still going on, but she didn't went since she was tired. She needed a day for herself. It was kinda good since both of their classes ended at the same time.

The following day she didn't had college since the classes she take weren't much and her major was Medical. Taking up Medical and on top of that playing basketball was not an easy job. Yeah she could manage but somehow. On her second year, she almost failed when she gave little time to her studying and more on basketball.

A medical student shouldn't be caught up with other activities. Well that's what others say. But it was fun.

Listening to lectures most of the time was so annoying but obviously you need notes. Practical was very much different. It was fun.

Now back to Kerissa.

She straight up headed home. She felt kinda guilty for screaming at her. She herself didn't know what took over her when Shirley said that she'll give her money.

She shrugged off the feeling of guilt and started to walk home. On the way home, she decided to buy some pastries from the bakery that she has always saw the past years, but never once visited.

When she entered, she was met with the smell of tasty sweets lingering inside.

She looked around the bakery, it looked really cozy. It was filled even at this hour. She decided to look at the pastries there.

Everything looked so tasty. She just couldn't choose what to buy.

"Hello, what would you like to have? " a female voice asked her.
