x - obsession.

-1:42am-

GRACIE had never in her life finished a song so quickly. Every nerve ending in her body had fired off with an overload of inspiration and motivation at her new found muse and resulted in a cataclysmic writing process that had left the poor girl reeling and shaking as she laid on her bedroom floor.

Was songwriting supposed to be this intense?

Gracie hadn't even recorded the song yet and she was already being put through the paces. She couldn't stop her mind from thinking about Pippa and the one, singular night that they had spent together. Weenie was snuggled up against her leg, snoring away and completely oblivious to the frankly, quite embarrassing emotions his human was exhibiting.

Is this what obsession feels like?

Gracie thought she knew what it felt like to be obsessed with something. When she was twelve, she was obsessed with the Twilight saga, when she was fifteen, she was obsessed with Taylor Swift, so was every other person on the planet, when she was twenty one, she was obsessed with playing live music and never wanted to stop, but this? This felt like all of those things added together and then blended up with a pot full of steroids and cocaine. Gracie pulled at her hair. Maybe she should go raid her own liquor cabinet. Tequila sounded pretty much heaven sent right in that moment.

-10:37am-

Gracie shuddered awake by the incessant buzzing of her phone on her face. Had she literally fallen asleep on the floor? Her room didn't smell like alcohol, though, so there was at least one upside. Gracie rubbed her eyes with a groan and read the message on her screen through her blurry vision in her groggy state.
