Sana's POV

I looked at myself in the mirror. I was wearing black jeans, a white crop top and a black jacket and I was getting ready for the 'gathering'. As I looked, I saw that a small part of the scar was visible and I quickly pulled my jeans higher to hide it. Even though that happened seven years ago, that scar still haunted me.

Flashback

Dark. That's the only thing I could see inside my closet. There were clothes too but I could only feel them. I had made sure to lock the door of my room once I heard the noise. Clattering of plates and things falling on the ground, breaking into pieces. Screams, of fear from my mom, of anger from my dad. The sound of leather hitting the skin and another scream and then silence. I let out a big exhale, realizing I wasn't breathing steadily. I was afraid of even breathing at all. I was afraid he would hear. I was afraid of what he would do if he did.

"Sana-chan!" he said in singsong, outside my bedroom's door. I didn't reply. I gripped onto a piece of cloth tight and shoved one in my mouth, hoping it would muffle the sound of my breath.

"Open the door honey!" he continued in singsong. My heart beat grew faster and faster, louder and louder, I feared he would hear it. Then, the door broke and I heard it fall on the ground. I wanted to scream, shout for help but I couldn't. Not while he was still there.

"I know you're here Sana-chan. Come to daddy!" he said and opened the door of the closet aggressively. I let out what sounded like a combination of a whimper and a scream when I saw his face. He was thin, had small, brown and scary eyes and had a beard. He looked at me as if he was crazy, which he was actually. My eyes wandered around the closet, hoping to spot something that would help me but they landed on his left hand. On the shining knife he was holding.

"P-p-please d-don't hurt m-me." I whimpered and tried sitting further inside the closet but then I stopped.

There was nowhere else to hide.

End Of Flashback

"Sana? Are you okay?"

I turned around and saw my mom standing at the door. She looks at me and her eyes land on my hand which rests above the scar.

"Honey..." she comes closer and pulls me into a hug. I wrap my hands around her and let out a few sobs on her shoulder.

"I know it's hard Sana, but we can do this. You can do this. You can count on me and Yicheng, even though I think you don't like him a lot yet." she said and I chuckled. She patted my back and pulled away from the hug, looking into my eyes.

"And you can also count on Tzuyu. She's your older sister and I'm sure she'll understand if you tell her. I'm not pressuring you to, I'm just suggesting that if you shared this with someone, they could help you."

I nodded. "Yeah, I get it."

"Now, go have fun at your party and make friends." she kissed my forehead and left.

3rd Person's POV

"I know it's hard Sana, but we can do this. You can do this. You can count on me and Yicheng even though I think you don't like him a lot yet.

And you can also count on Tzuyu. She's your older sister and I'm sure she'll understand if you tell her. I'm not pressuring you to, I'm just suggesting that if you shared this with someone, they could help you."

The brunette outside the door heard everything. She didn't hear any details but she understood that Sana was crying because of something that happened in the past. Does it have to do with the blonde's father, like she heard the first day they met? Tzuyu remembers that she was not really open about the subject and she started crying not long after it was mentioned. The tall girl heard Sana's mom coming to her and tried hiding behind the door.

"Tzuyu."

She was startled. "Oh, uh, hi Mrs. Minatozaki." she greeted nervously.

"From what I can see, I guess you heard." Sana's mom added. Tzuyu nodded.

"Take care of her. Please. I'm not saying she'll go looking for trouble, I just want you to be there for her. Can you do that? It's about her-"

"You don't have to tell me. She can tell me when she's ready, we should not pressure her. And, yes, of course and I'll take care of her. Don't worry Mrs. Minatozaki." the brunette reassured the worried mom who pulled her in for a hug.

"Thank you." she mumbled as she let go and went down the stairs. "Thank you Tzuyu."
