Sana's POV
Three days after the gala, I woke up to bright light coming in my room. I slowly opened my eyes, groaning.
"Mom, what are you doing? I was sleeping!"
"I know honey."
I got up on my elbows. "And why did you wake me up? What, are we going on some sort of trip with the Chous?"
She chuckled. "No dear, I have a surprise for you."
I got up from my bed immediately and went to her. I looked her with puppy eyes. Everyone loves those. "What surprise mom?" I spoke in baby voice. She chuckled again.
"Don't do that honey, it doesn't suit you. And if I tell you it won't be a surprise right?"
I sighed. I love surprises but I hate the whole part when you have to wait, knowing there's a surprise awaiting you. But I guess that's the whole point.
"Don't worry, I'll tell you at breakfast." she said "Get dressed and come down." she left the room. I took jean shorts and a black top to wear with my Nike Airs. I tied my hair in a messy bun, grabbed my phone and ran down the stairs to the living room for breakfast. There, I saw my mom and Mr. Chou talking and Tzuyu playing with her pancakes. She looked weird, her expression was blank and, when I sat down in front of her, she didn't even try to look at me.
"Good morning!" I said as I took my plate in front of me. Mr. Chou and my mom replied. Tzuyu didn't.
"So, about the surprise I was telling you Sana... I've invited Eunha to come stay with us for a few days."
I choked on my water when I heard that. That's when Tzuyu looked at me. I can't say Eunha coming here wasn't a surprise but I can say it wasn't a pleasant one.
"Wow, mom but... Mr. Chou, Tzuyu...?"
"Don't worry Sana. I've handled everything. Eunha will be staying in Tzuyu's bedroom, next to you and Tzuyu will be sleeping in the guest room-"
"But Eunha is the guest, shouldn't she stay in the guest room?" I interrupted Mr. Chou. I didn't want Tzuyu to change room. It felt safer having her around. Tzuyu looked at me again and I could see with my sideye a smile flash on her face.
"But, honey, Eunha is your girlfriend-"
"And Tzuyu's my sister! Don't they say blood is thicker than water?"
"Technically that doesn't apply here because we're not related by blood." Tzuyu whispered to me with a grin and I slapped her hand.
"Stop it, you're ruining my moment." I whispered back and turned to look at my mom and Mr. Chou. They had a look on their face as if they were on the verge of crying and they were happy at the same time.
"Sana... What did you say?" my mom looked at me with that weird expression. I sighed.
"I said that I'd prefer it if Tzuyu stayed where she is.". This time I felt someone kick my leg. I looked at Tzuyu and saw her smirking.
"Okay then. Eunha will have the guest room." Mr. Chou said and got up. "She'll be arriving at noon and you can take her on a tour around the city." he added and left the room. After a while, my mom also got up, a huge smile on her face, and left after patting my shoulder. I was alone with Tzuyu. And she was acting weird again.
"What's wrong with you?" I asked her. She lifted her head up and looked at me. Then she opened her mouth and, instead of saying something, she shoved a huge piece of pancake in it.
"You're stupid, you know that?"
She shrugged and continued munching loudly.
"And disgusting." I added and made her laugh and almost choke on her pancakes.
"Can't you see I'm eating? If Momo was here, she'd tell you that meals are sacred and that you shouldn't bother someone when they're eating."
"Momo's not here though."
"So I'm reminding you."
Damn. She won this time. But I'm not going to let it pass.
"Wanna tell me why you're acting like this?"
"Why did she call her?"
"What?"
"Your mom. Why did she call Eunha? Haven't you told her about-"
"Oh, now I get it. You're jealous!"
"Am not."
"Yes you are. I can see it-"
"No you can't."
"Oh, now you're denying. You're so jealous."
"Your mom said you told her to call Eunha."
Okay, now I'm confused. My eyes widened at the sudden statement.
"Wh-what?"
Tzuyu got up and came next to me.
"She said you needed her to help you with whatever happened with your father."
I slowly got up to her and opened my mouth to speak but she suddenly punched the wall.
"AM I NOT ENOUGH SANA? DOES SHE KNOW!? DOES SHE KNOW YOU HAVE NIGHTMARES EVERY NIGHT!? DID SHE EVER FUCKING TAKE CARE OF YOU LIKE I DID!?"
"Tzuyu please-". Tears had started forming in my eyes.
"DID SHE TAKE A HIT FROM A FUCKING BAT FOR YOU!? NO, NO AND AGAIN NO! INSTEAD, SHE WENT AND KISSED YOUR FUCKING BEST FRIEND!"
"Tzuyu stop it...". The memories were back. Everything was back. His voice, my mom's groans and grunts, the furniture falling, the plates breaking. I tried leaning onto the wall so as not to fall. Tears were streaming down my eyes.
"WHAT DID SHE DO THAT I DID NOT? WHAT- Sana? Sana!" she came to me and lifted my chin to look at me. "No, no, no, Sana don't cry please. Please Sana, calm down, I'm sorry, Sana please." she pulled me in a tight hug and ran her fingers through my hair, her other hand patting my back genlty. Her voice started breaking.
"Sana, I'm s-so sorry, p-please don't cry, I hate seeing you cry. Sana, please c-calm down, please, I'm sorry."
Now she was crying with me. I wrapped my hands around her and continued crying.
"S-sana, I'm sorry, I don't know how many times you want me to say it, I'll keep on saying it just, please, don't cry."
She kissed my head multiple times.
"You look ugly when you cry." she spat out and I started laughing. My laughter drowned my tears away and I pulled away from the hug and gave her a slap on the hand. She chuckled and wiped my tears away.
"I didn't tell her to call Eunha. I never did." I mumbled and looked up at her. Her eyes were slightly red, like mine.
"I- I didn't know-"
"It's okay Tzu-"
"No, no, Sana, it's not okay. You know it's not. I'm sorry." she started sobbing again and now it was my turn to pull her in a hug. She buried her head in my shoulder and I patted her back.
"Tzuyu, it's fine, really. Just, don't do anything like that in front of Eunha, she'll freak out."
She chuckled and pulled away. "I'll try not to. If she hurts you though, I might." she came and gave me a long kiss then broke it and rested her forehead on mine. "I'm sorry."
I smiled. I tip toed and kissed her forehead. "Don't worry, she won't do anything. She's just Eunha. We just need to talk about the picture-" I stopped. Tzuyu looked at me in surprise.
"Oh my god Tzuyu, the picture! She'll recognize you!"
