"The Prince of the Moon"

Sonic just froze from his spot, and the ninja leader just freely ran away, since they got defeated again. The azure just stared at the ebony hedgehog with the expression of shock and fear.

"Answer me." Shadow narrowed his eyes and his tone is getting a little stern. Sonic gulped as he averted his eyes away, not knowing what to say. His whole body just froze like ice, and Shadow's grip on his wrist suddenly loosen, but he didn't let go.

"Are you just going to stand there or what?" Sonic sighed and nervously look into the ebony's crimson eyes. He can't speak properly as they gazed into their eachother's eyes, and it felt like hours. Good hours. Sonic snapped out of thoughts and snatched his arm away from Shadow's gloved grip.

"I-...well uhm..." Shadow only rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "So it's true. You are 'The Prince of the Moon'." Sonic swallowed his saliva before answering. "Y-yes...bu-but don't tell anyone that i am the prince of the earth's moon! And my appearance."

Shadow just averted his eyes away when he said that, feeling guilt for telling Rouge his appearance...guilt...? Why would he feel about guilt? He only shook his head. Sonic knew something was wrong. Or worse, did he tell anyone or everybody?

"Shadow...? You didn't..actually told anyone about my appearance...right..?" He nervously smiled, but his smile dropped when the ebony didn't said anything. And he already knew from his body language, that he did in fact told somebody about his appearance. "Shadow! Why?"

"Don't blame me, she was so demanding. I only told her about your appearance, but not your name." Sonic is getting more fraustrated about him. "That still counts! Why would you do that? Oh my gahhhh!!!" Shadow sighs and look at him. And then he saw the azure's quills moved or flow gently, like a breeze passed by him, but the wind was hiding. And he also noticed that Sonic's quills shined like stars.

He watched in amazement and bewilderment and Sonic kept yapping about him telling his appearance. The ebony's thoughts snapped back into reality when Sonic spoke up. "Shadow, this...woman you were referring to, is she the only one you told her?" Shadow nodded, and Sonic felt relief, but still panicking inside. He didn't want anybody to know his real appearance, but here he was. Not only him, but a woman he didn't even know, know his appearance.

"Can you...atleast tell me what she look like? So i can stop her from telling anybody who i am? I mean, i know that blue hedgehogs are rare, that's why. Please...?" Sonic pleaded, making Shadow raised one of his eyebrows in confusion, but he told him anyways.

"She's a mobian bat, a white bat. She have aquamarine eyes and a short hair and she wore a heart-chest plate, and a black tight shirt with no sleeves and straps, white long boots. Her body is kinda revealing, but i can't stop her." Shadow bluntly spoke and shrugged.

'If Rouge already know Sonic's appearance, then i'll tell hers.' Shadow thought in his mind.

Sonic just hummed. "Soo...what is she to you? Your girlfriend or somethin'?" Shadow's eyes widened and glared at him. "What? No. I saw her like an another...family members..." "So, you saw her as your mother or sister?"

"Why are you suddenly asking me that question?" Shadow spoke as he began to walk away. The air felt chill of course, since it's night and Sonic's quills continue to flow like that. Like a hair flow like stars in the sky. "Hey, wait up!" His tone was back into a cocky, playfull attitude.

"I'm just asking you about something basic-" "Which is creepy." Sonic scoffed and rolled his eyes at him. "It is not!" Shadow side-eye him before speaking. "Show some manners, Prince." He emphasized the last word, making the azure feel even more annoyed at him. He didn't like when someone called him the royal name or status.

Sonic faced away. "How can your quills look like that." Shadow pointed at his blue, flowing quills. Sonic only grinned. "Well, you want tutorial to get your quills look like this, oorrr..." Shadow scoffed as they kept walking together from side to side. "No. They just looked...weird." The azure hummed and looked at his own long back quills, before arranged it into the original position.

"It will be like this when it was night, or the moon will come out in the sky. Cause, you know, 'Prince of the Moon' thing?" Shadow only nodded and he faced down on the path they walked ahead.

The azure noticed his body language, and his face showed a little concern for him. "Why the long face again, Shadow? Is something wrong?" Shadow shook his head. "I'll be heading, go home and see ya, Faker."

Shadow teleported away with a green flash, and left Sonic in the middle of the woods. Though that he wasn't lost, and it was kinda feel lonely without someone to talk to. He could sneak into Shadow's place, but he didn't know where he lived, and he will make himself in trouble if he go there in the city. So he turned around and dashed away.

He dashed through the trees, loving the feeling of the cold air hitting his face and his body. He was near at that wall again, surrounded by a thick fog. The fog got closer to the azure, as the azure ran towards it. The fog quickly opened the secret entrance to their kingdom. Once Sonic ran in, the fog immediately closed and leaning back into the wall.

Now. He was running past the villagers' homes and towards the castle. He got inside and saw Sonia ordering the guards/knights with a paper in her hand. She looked stressed and looks like she haven't slept as well.

Sonic walked towards his sister and yelled a little. "Sonia! Why in the moonlight do you like that?" Sonia rubbed the bridge of her nose, and told the knights to have their private time with her younger brother.

(I made Sonic the younger sibling. Fight me.)

"Sonic, where have you been?" But Sonic ignored her question. "No. You need sleep, sis. You look rough!" That comment made the dark pink hedgehett rubbed her eyes and yawn. "Yeah, i'm tired. But i'm still not finished with my duties, Sonic." Sonic scoffed at his only older sister and rolled his eyes, making Sonia irritated by his unprince behavior. "Sonic, don't roll your eyes at me. Learn some manners!"

"Just like Shadow would say." Sonic mumbled under his breath, but unfortunately, Sonia heard what he was saying. "What? Who is this 'Shadow'? Is that a name for our enemies, but stronger?!" Sonic quickly tried to calm her down. "No no no no no! It wasn't the Moon Dwellers! Uhm..."

Sonia tilted her head in confusion. "Then what?" Sonic scratched at the back of his head, averting his emerald eyes away from his sister's blue eyes. "I made...uhh...a friend! Yay...?" He nervously laughed, but her eyes widened in shock. "Wait wait, so you're saying that...this 'Shadow' knew you're identity?!"

"Uhmm...yes? Buuut! He also didn't tell anyone, except his sister." He mumbled the last part, but she still heard it. "That's even more worse!" Sonic sighed and tried to calm her down again. "But she didn't told anyone either! Please, don't panic, i got this!"

Sonia looked at him, like she wanted to know that it was some kind of joke. "You can't handle this on your own, Sonic. We are here for you." "And i'm here for you too, you know that sis, right?" Sonic looked at her worriedly. "I mean-come on! You are tired, stressed, and needed rest from you're lovingly soft bed who was waiting for you. You're duties can wait in the next day, but what is important is your health."

The dark pink hedgehog sighed, knowing that he was right. "Fine...but we are going to talk about this 'Shadow' friend of yours in the morning, got it?" Sonic nodded but realized something, "Hey, where is Manic?" Sonia looked at him in the eyes. "He was sleeping in his room, after he gave everyone some foods, since the field was dry, or they ran out of money so they can't buy anything." Sonic hummed and gesture her to go to her room, which made Sonia smile and kiss his forehead. "Bleahh, Sonia!" He got embarrassed, while Sonia giggled. "Sorry, it's a habit for you two. Goodnight, Sonic." And with that, Sonia told the knights that she should continue her duty tomorrow, of course, the knights nodded and she walked into the hallways in the castle, and into her room, open and closing it gently.

He need some rest too, man!
