Trouble

Sonic was tapping his foot impatiently, trying to find a way to train himself. And now, he can't hold it anymore. "You know what? Screw this. I'm outta here." He quickly grabbed his cloak and was about to open the front door, someone opened it outside and it was Shadow. Shadow glanced at the cloak in Sonic's hand, narrowing his eyes and he furrowed his eyebrows, knowing what he will do.

"Where do you think you're going?" Shadow asked, crossing his arms and also blocking the way. Sonic tried to find an explanation, but nothing came up. Sonia and Manic were sleeping in their rooms, and he thought it's the perfect time since it's night.

"Uhh..nowhere!" Sonic wanted to slap himself, and Shadow wasn't fazed by his lie. "Tell me the truth, hedgehog." Shadow pushed his own question, making Sonic averted his eyes away, a bead of sweat rolling down on his forehead. That made Shadow raised an eyebrow in confusion and also suspicion. Sonic realized that he can't hide it anymore so he gave up. He sigh deeply and stared at him with a serious expression.

"I need, uhh..I need to train myself. In private." Shadow was taken aback by that. "Train yourself? In private? Elaborate it, hedgehog." Sonic took a deep breath, not wanting to explain it further where he accidently said that they were royals. "Shads?" "I said, do not call me that." He spat with annoyance in his tone. "Sorry. I just can't explain it, and maybe later after I train?" Shadow paused for a moment, he wanted some answers but Sonic is being stubborn right now so he sighed. And he thought about what had Sonic said, very curious. "Where the heck are you going to train? Eyes are everywhere. If they saw you, you'll be in trouble."

Sonic tilted his head. "In what trouble?" He asked, curious when mobians saw the very rare blue hedgehog in their sight. "Do I really need to explain it to you?" He said bluntly. Sonic nodded in response so he answered. "Get taken away, do something to you or worse..get killed." Sonic went silent for a moment. He had a point. Mobians or even humans would take him away if he get caught, and experiment on him until he dies.

Sonic looked down at the floor with silence, but his head echoed with thousands thoughts. What if he got caught? What will happen to his siblings? Will they grief and whine into his disappearance? Of course they would. They mattered to him the most. But what if they started blaming Sonic at his own disappearance? What if-

His thoughts snapped back into reality when Shadow cleared his throat, trying to get his attention. "Fine. You want to train? I got an underground base for you to train yourself." Since when did Shadow have a base? "You have a base? Like a dungeon-I mean! Secret-secret base? No one knows?" Shadow raised an eyebrow for that, thinking what he said before had him thinking for long like 1 minute before focusing into the present. "The bat I told you about, knows the base, but she didn't told anyone yet."

"Oh. Alright then, show me the way!" He said excitedly. Shadow lead him to the base, and entered in a closet room. "Are you looking for something?" Sonic asked him, his index finger to his chin as he tilted his head to the side. "Yes I am, hedgehog. One more questions and I will give you to the crowds." He sharply said, and Sonic went quiet again.

He found a disguised lever along with the designed paper long rolls. He pulled it and the floor slowly traveled down. Sonic gasped in amazement, even though they have one at the castle but he didn't question it. When they arrived, Sonic's jaw dropped at the sight of the base. There's guns everywhere, bombs, unactivated missiles on the table, etc. "Should I be concerned about this..? This ain't a base, this is an awesome base!" He ran towards the table where guns were arranged and he grabbed one. He didn't know about guns but he have heard about them. He casually peeked into the hole where the bullet would shot out.

Shadow quickly snatched the gun away from his grip. "What the hell do you think you are doing?!" Sonic laughed at him. "Oh, come on, give me that." "Are you crazy?! You could've shot your own damn head!" "Oh yeah, I forgot about that." Sonic rubbed at the back of his neck, chuckling at himself.

"You know what, go to bed. It's late." Sonic stared at him with confusion. "Dude, I can't sleep, that's why I wanted to train." He said stubbornly. "Tired or not, you need to sleep." Shadow answered. They bickered back and fourth until Sonic gave up and marching towards the elevator floor. The floor moved up along with Sonic.

Sonic stepped out in the closet room and he froze when he spotted someone looking at him. It was a albino female bat.

"So it's you that Shadow talked about...?"

"Shoot!"

Sonic back away, uneasy and also confused about her appearance. Her clothes was revealing, VERY. Heart chest plate and a tight sleeveless and strapless shirt.

She gasped in recognision, she remembered that this is what Shadow told her and the appearance is perfectly matched about Shadow's words.

Rouge's POV

I can't believe it..the blue hedgehog, the VERY RARE hedgehog was right infront of me. I gasped in shock but quickly shook my suprise away when he backed away. I can tell he was confused, shocked as I am.

"W-wait! I am not going to hurt you, Shadow told me about you." I saw his shoulders lower slightly, that I wasn't a threat. So, Shadow was telling the truth, he did saw the rare hedgehog. It was awesome, but also dangerous. Not from the blue hedgehog, it's from the mobians and humans. Who knows what will they do to him if they saw him in sight.

I took a deep breath to calm down as I introduce myself. "My name is Rouge, please, I am not a threat. Shadow told me about you. It's...it's kinda awesome to meet you than words."

No POV

Sonic studied her movements and body languages, but ease his body since she was not a threat, he can tell. Shadow is still in the base, so he have to do this on his own. He let out a shaky breath to speak. "A-are you sure, that you're not going to tell anyone...?" He said. Rouge nodded and she slowly sat on the couch, continue to glance at him. She did this to Shadow years ago when she is still not trusted to his own eyes, and it worked. Same to the blue hedgehog.

"Do you mind telling me you're name..?" Sonic tilted his head, also sitting down in the chair across to her, keeping a distance. "Why, I must ask?" He said in a polite manner. Because princes and princesses always had manners, but it worked on him, a little bit. "When Shadow told me about you, I was only missing one thing he can't tell me. Your name." She dramatically sighed, making him chuckle. "Alright alright. The name's Sonic Ogilvie Maurice Hedgehog. But call me Sonic, since i'm uncomfortable when someone calls me that."

Rouge had to hold a laugh at the name, and she was able to control it this time. "Alright blue, have you seen Shadow?" "Oh, he was in the base-" "Rouge?" Shadow spoke behind Sonic, making him scream a little like a girl, before he covered his own mouth in embarassement. Rouge snorted and laugh at the girly scream while Shadow looked at him with annoyance and also a hint of amusement. "Did I scare you that much?"

"Don't scare me like that!!"
