The little Omega is bothering me more than it should. Damn you, Magneto. He seemed to have accomplished his mission because I am truly thinking about joining the Brotherhood at the moment. As mutant you only have two possible careers; X-Men or Brotherhood member. The latter does not seem as unattractive as it actually should be.

Magneto has left the mansion about four hours ago and he implied that he will not return soon. I am sure that he will still be involved in the FoH case but he will try to solve it his way and this means blowing off their headquarters or anything else like this. The X-Men will try it in a more diplomatic way and maybe it's the better one because the humans will see that mutants are educated people who are civilised like them. Our teachers body, except for Kitty, Rogue and Bobby, and some of the new mutants from the prisons have taken off to Washington for an emergency meeting with the government. We all hope that this time they will be successful. Sometimes, I just don't understand why The Professor just does not manipulate those imbeciles in Washington with his powers. All our problems would be solved then, but no; monsieur respects humans way too much even if we are in such a desperate situation like now. This was actually Magneto's idea but Charles said that we should never use our powers for our own benefit. It would be unethical. What a rubbish. If I could manipulate minds like him I would totally do it.

"What do you have there in your hands?", Rachel wants to know after she popped up out of nothing in the middle of our room. Quickly, I hide the little omega in my hands. "None of your interest." She wants to know it but tries to act like she doesn't want to. "Okay. Whatever...I was wondering if you want to bake a pie with me...for the new students, so they feel a little more welcome. Are you in?"

"Uh yes. What kind of pie? We would need a few ones." I rise from my bed to let Rachel teleport me. Within a blink we are in the kitchen where I can see that Rachel has already prepared some things. "I have been thinking about a simple apple pie and maybe some brownies. There are great recipes in this little old book here." She points to a handwritten little notebook on the kitchen counter. "Where did you find this?" I examine it further. The little notebook seems to be at least a hundred years old. "In one of the shelves in the library. I am not sure if we are allowed to take it out but I just borrowed it for a short amount of time. It's one of The Professor's I guess because it was written by a Sharon Xavier."

"Really? How cute that he keeps such things." I mean it. Charles does not seem like a person who likes cooking.

"Yes, it is. And now... let's start." Rachel starts taking out some ingredients from the cupboards while I still study the little notebook. Sharon Xavier had a nice handwriting but I don't have the impression that she tried all these recipes on her own or for little Charles or Raven.

Kitty enters the kitchen slightly giggling. "Hey girls! What are you doing?"

"We are about to bake a little for our new friends.", Rachel answers starting to mix some ingredients in a mid-sized bowl. "Sounds good but don't set the kitchen on fire!", Kitty says still giggling while she takes a cola bottle out of the fridge. "We are professionals, Kitty. By the way... Sofia hand me the recipe, please." Rachel holds out her left hand and I let the notebook float into it. "What are you gonna bake? We did not have a self-baked cake since ages!" Kitty is right. No one really dares to cook or bake here. Well, some are just unable but most are rather lazy.

"Do you need some help?", Kitty offers. Rachel shakes her head. "You really seem professional, Rachel. At home, my mother and I loved cooking together. It was always fun."

"Me and my mother, too. My relatives and friends even ordered cakes from us."

Kitty leans on the kitchen counter next to me. "That's cool. Maybe you could be our baker."
