I let out a whimper and stumbled back. My head hit the door frame and I fell, still pressing my back against the door. I heard a shuffle from the girls in Jordan's room, then the noise moved to in front of the bathroom door.
"Violet, are you okay?" I heard Camryn say. I quickly stood up to unlock and open the door. The girls were staring at me, wide eyed.
Then their gaze moved from me to the shower wall. Avery pulled me by the arm out of the bathroom. Stunned, I couldn't say anything. I just stood there and continued staring at the wall along with the other girls.
Finally, I gained enough courage to walk up and run my hands along the rough scratches.
Turning to the group, I spoke up with a shaky voice, "Why is this happening?"
Silence took over. Then Jordan spoke up, "Guys, where's Lexi?"
"She fell asleep watching the mov-" Avery was cut off by a scream.
We all bolted down the hallway to Jordan's room to find Lexi standing at the TV. She had her back facing us, so we couldn't see why she had screamed.
"Lexi, what's wrong?" Camryn whimpered. Lexi put both of her hands behind her back after she turned to face us. All of our eyes shot to the TV. It was busted, and the shattered glass was dripping with blood.
"I-I-," she stopped talking and took her hands out from behind her back. They were also dripping with blood. Lexi guiltily looked down at her hands then back up at us.
"Tanner, sh-she," Lexi stuttered.
"Tanner what?" I anxiously asked her.
"She was on the TV, but she was different. She was drenched in something... It looked like blood."
My heart sank. Lexi continued, "I got so scared I... Hit the screen. It was just an instinct, Jordan I'm so sorry, I-I-," Jordan cut her off,
"Lexi, it's okay. My TV is fine, I'm just worried about you,"
"Thank you," replied Lexi, "Will one of you come help me clean my hands off in the bathroom?"
"I'll do it," I volunteered. She walked up to me and I grabbed her by the forearm, careful not to touch the blood. I led her to the bathroom.
She stopped and stared at the wall, "What's that?" She asked in horror.
"I don't know, it-" I started to explain, but I then noticed something different.
There were more scratches.
Lexi read them aloud, "Twelve will come soon. If you want her back, go to the object that reflects the moon."
I gasped and started to weep uncontrollably. The girls heard and rushed up to us. They knew exactly why I was crying. Lexi washed off her hands by herself and wrapped her injured hand in gauze.
We all walked back to Jordan's room silently, the TV still dripping blood to the floor.
"I'll clean that up," Lexi said quietly.
"No," demanded Avery, "there's no time. We have to figure out what is happening. We have to get Tanner back."
"The object that reflects the moon," I remembered, "what could that be?"
"The statue!" Exclaimed Avery.
"What statue?"
"The statue of the woman in the park! You know, the one made of glass?" She pulled out her phone and Google searched a picture of it. As soon as it popped up, I remembered.
The statue was about seven feet tall, and made completely out of glass. I remembered that a few months ago they replaced an old, creepy statue with the shiny new one.
I stood up, "I need to go there. It's the only thing I know to do," I announced. Jordan stood up along side me,
"You're not doing it alone," she said. The rest of the girls nodded and stood up too.
"Let's go," I demanded.
