It must have been because I had previously lost my first 11 chapters and when they came back, it put Chapter 11 was gone. So I apologize for that. :(

But I am glad those other chapters are back! I was so worried.

We dart down the hallway, trying to get as far away from that room as possible. I could tell Lexi was terrified; she knew she was next. Her breathing was heavy and her eyes were wide, staring down to the end of the hallway.

Her shoes skidded as she came to a sudden stop, putting out a hand to warn me to stop and listen.

At first all I could hear was my blood pumping and my heart beating wildly, but once all of that calmed I could hear it: screams. The screams of my little sister.

I listened closer and could tell that it was coming from the other end of the hallway. I was hesitant, knowing that we would have to walk past the room where one of our best friends was being devoured, but Lexi and I gave each other reassuring looks and took off for the other end of the hall.

As we ran closer, the screams got louder. When we got close to the room where we encountered the horrible creature, I stopped.

"... I don't hear anything in there," I whispered to Lexi as I pressed my ear against the wall beside the door. She stood huddled behind me.

"I'm going to go look," I whispered; as much as I didn't want to.

Lexi whimpered, "Be careful, Violet,"

Whiteout another word I tiptoed into the small, cramped room. The light was dull so it was hard to focus on a single object. I continued to look around until I saw a huge puddle of blood. Although other than that, there was no trace of Jordan or the creature.

I sighed and turned around to peek my head out the door at Lexi.

"There's nothing in there Lex, ex-..." Lexi wasn't there where I had last seen her.

My heart skipped a beat as I came to realization as to what was going to happen soon.
