The station bustled with activity as workers hurried back and forth, loading luggage and cargo onto the train. Passengers queued up to board, while engineers and conductors engaged in discussions amidst the steam billowing from the train onto the platform. Sitting on one of the benches, a sibling awaited their companions' arrival—the man with red hair and the girl with long black hair that ended in an orange tip. They sat patiently, unfazed by the bustling station, allowing it to carry on with its business.
"Onii-chan." Nezuko opens her mouth
"Yes, Nezuko?" Tanjiro answers
"I know this would be pointless to ask, but would they be alright?" She wore a worried expression
"Fret not, albeit having been captured once, Inosuke is a strong fellow. Zenitsu is a capable man in his own rights." He smiled to reassure her. "If anything would befallen to any of them, then like you, I would stop at nothing to find them."
"You really are a kind person, onii-chan. Sometimes, frighteningly so." She hugs one of his arm. "But that what makes you my own big brother."
He felt his heart strings were tugged, it's been a while since he last saw her. Seeing her being all cute like the olden days brought him a pleasant nostalgia where he didn't have to live through hell without her. The fact that she survived all this time, it was nothing short but a miracle to be able to see her again. With his other hand, he gently pat her head with the corner of his lips turned upwards. It was only a short while after would they finally see the ones they were waiting for.
"I see you two had a pleasant walk together." Zenitsu came up to them and stood in front with a forced smile. Perhaps he had actually arrived earlier but overheard them, is what Tanjiro would deduced from his expression alone
"Give it a break Zen. You know as much as I do what we had to go through to even find Nezuko." He stares back and surely enough Zenitsu let up his threatening gaze
"Alright fine. You're her brother after all." Zenitsu let out a sigh. It was then Nezuko stood up and hug him with both arms which caused him to fluster. "N-Nezuko-chan?!"
"I missed you too, Zenitsu-san."
Now this time, it seemed it was Tanjiro's gaze that turned hostile towards Zenitsu. Beads of sweat began to appear on his forehead as Zenitsu haven't seen the other side of Tanjiro's personality for so long. Fortunately it was only for a few mere moments before Nezuko let him go. Although she didn't realize it, she had prevented what could've been bloodshed from a bloodied skull.
"Are you alright, Zenitsu-san?" Nezuko asked sensing the tension in the air
"Y-yeah. I've feel all better now." He spoke casually to hide his nervousness from her
"Good to hear that, Zen." Tanjiro said with a daunting smile
"A-anyway, where's that muscle head? I thought he would be here already." Zenitsu quickly changed the subject
"He's hunting." Tanjiro answered. "The Hunt may not be over yet. I supposed there were more of them than I thought."
"You sent him on a hunt? I thought our Preservation are more important no?" Zenitsu crossed his arms. "Supposedly so we could live in Harmony once more."
"It seems both Onii-chan and Zenitsu-san possess Erudition." Nezuko giggled in delight. "Sometimes I wonder how you both would have it?"
"Because we possessed an Abundance of knowledge Nezuko." Tanjiro answered
