Pt.30

"Mija ya despierta" I hear my mom say from outside my door. I groan as I had spent all night bar hopping with my friends right after I got home from dinner with my family. I turn to the clock that marked 8:30 making me groan once more.

"Okay so ahorita bajo" I yell back as I stand up to take a quick shower along with my morning routine steps. As soon as I finish that I put on a skims top and some baggy jeans and head downstairs.

"Buenos días" I sing as everyone was already eating at the table. I go around and kiss everyone on the cheek. "Morning Lucas" I say waving to my sisters husband as I take my seat.

"Como dormiste? I heard you got home at three in the morning" my dad says. "Sorry but my bed was super duper comfy I missed it" I tell him. "Oh so you're all set to go to the mall with me" Martha says.

"Always down for that" I giggle "entonces mija como te fue en tus exámenes?" "Muy bien the one I did with nika was really good and I mean both were good" I shrug. "Are you excited for your friends to come here?" Lucas asks. I nod "of course this is so extra but I mean it's sweet"

"I mean I didn't do lots of things it's just something simple a dinner you know" my mom defends making us all laugh knowing that she does not do simple.

"So you told mom and dad that Paige is your girlfriend?" My sister asks as we make our way through the mall. "They know we're talking well mom does I just don't want to get them hyped before meeting her then they'd probably act weird about her" she laughs nodding in agreement.

How is Paige feeling?" She follows up "she's nervous about meeting them but i told her that she has nothing to worry about those two considering their unserious behavior"

"Hi Madeline right?" a girl in a group says coming up to us. "Hi yeah?" "Ahh can we get a picture I literally aspire to be just like you once I'm done with senior year" she says excitedly. "Of course" I smile posing for a picture next to her.

"You're so sweet thank you and I mean I'm sure you'll get there are you just have to look everywhere for internships you could even start right now and building a portfolio for your  school so others can have something to look at you know?"

"Yeah right now I run my schools girl basketball page" "are you actually dating Paige?" One asks making me chuckle out of nervousness. "Paige and I are just really good friends" I say biting my lips.

"Well it was so nice meeting you if you have any questions you can dm me" I tell the girl I was originally talking to. She smiles "thank you have fun" she waves as Martha and I begin to walk away from the group.

"What the fuck I've never been asked that well I mean only on live but I can ignore them oo that lowkey made my heart drop" I laugh. "I mean you did good, looked good enough" she shrugs.

"Hold on let me call her" I laugh "here let's sit right here" she says pointing to the bench only a few feet away from us.

"Hellooo?" She answers with muffled music in the background "hi whatcha up to?" "Sitting around waiting for the girls we're headed to a bar" "mm without me is crazy" I joke making her chuckles "well you left me... I miss you already" she says lowering her voice.

"i miss you too but you'll be here in a couple of days" I say trying to be positive. "I think I spend too much time with you" she says making me laugh "well as your girlfriend I would hope you spent time with me" "which takes up like most of my day and makes me miss you when you leave"

"This is my first time leaving you" I laugh "anyway let me get to my point I'm at the mall with Martha right now and tell me why this group of girls come up to me and I'm talking to only one she's the one who like called for me right and she was like oh I want to be just like you with the whole internship thing and I start talking to her and out of nowhere one of them asks "is it true that you're dating Paige Bueckers?" Paige I was literally speechless I've never been asked that"

I tell her my story all for her to just to laugh. "No way they put you on the spot like that" she says continuing to laugh "that's crazy" she adds. "That's what I'm saying!" "What did you say?" She asks. "I said "Paige and I are really good friends" that's it and then said bye".

"Looks like pr has worked well for you" she jokes "haha you're so funny" I say sarcastically.
