Pt.35

"Geno" I say skipping over "i have got a few questions for youuuu" "oh there goes our favorite camera girl" I stand still and hold my chest. "The camera girl is all I am to you I'm offended" "I'm kidding" he says as we both laugh.

"Kk redo that pass again!" He yells we had just came back from Austin and it was my first day back at practice. Coach had planned on having practice every day the whole afternoon leading up to our next game. "Sooo I was thinking that I could go to North Carolina and you know snoop around over there" i suggest.

"Why? Paige! Ashlynn come over here!" Geno yells. "Geno you're the one who suggested it" he turns to me "Maddie we have Nika's sister coming over oh and we have the women's showcase that's a big deal you have to cover it why would you leave now" he shrugs as the girls just stand around.

"Yeah aren't you playing North Carolina? I can make the drive" I chuckle which ends in him laughing "sweetheart that game is here in Connecticut plus you didn't even want to go what's with the sudden urge to check it out?" Geno asks crossing his arms. "Where are you going?" Paige asks "she isn't going anywhere Maddie if I'm being frank you have more of a success rate if you stay here I can network you just like Susannah did but bigger" he shrugs "I guess" I sigh.

"If you really want to come to me some other time and I'll schedule you out but I mean this is home I know you love it here" he smiles making me smile "yeah that's true" "where do you want to go?" paige asks "stop being nosy" Ashlynn chuckles playing off the fact that I was completely ignoring Paige.

Paige and I have yet to talk about the whole insident. Mainly because she had not apologized and I was very stubborn and was not going to apologize for something I didn't do.

"Kay that was a nice talk" I smile skipping away back to the top of the bleachers where I was working.

"You almost done?" I hear Jana ask I look up and smile "yeah I'm just doing some homework I finished editing some videos now I just have to draft them up I'll probably do it after I finish this paper" I say as she sits next to me.

"Are you heading off?" I ask she gives me a shrug "I think some of the girls are staying around to shoot I might stay too" she says "oh nice maybe I'll stay so I won't take work home" I say she laughs. "I got you I can draft them up" she jokes "very kind offer but I think we're good" I say as we both laugh.

"Madeline come down here please" I hear Geno yell. "I'll be back" "do you want me to take your stuff down there?" She asks "uhm no it's okay I think I am staying" I say pointing to ice shooting the ball.

"Alright then I'll see you later okay?" I nod and hug her before she walks down the stairs and I follow. "So have you had time to think about visiting?" He asks making me laugh at how little time he gave me. "I don't know I think I'm kidding" I shrug "well Maddie you know you're perfect here"

"Yeah so then that's your answer I guess I was just contemplating my life I don't even know" I giggle at the dumb question I had asked earlier. "It's okay Maddie but you're doing great sweetheart" I smile "Awh grampy" I say hugging him excitedly. 

"Awh are we hugging grampy" kk says running over to hug us. "Okay that's enough" he laughs before nika comes over and hugs us as well.

We all pull away and finally let him leave for the night before some of the girls stay back to practice and shoot around the ball.

"Should we order some wing stop" Ashlynn asks me "ooooo yessss" I say pulling up wing stop on my laptop. "Girls come" Ashlynn yells and immediately they all run over. "We're ordering wings pick your flavors" she says "we're eating here?" Ice asks "or we can go to my place" I shrug. "Yeah that's better that way Geno won't be mad if we leave anything" Ayanna says.

"Should we get 75? What time is it?" I ask "it's barely 8:40 they don't close until midnight" KK says "of course kk would know" Paige jokes making us all laugh before kk chases Paige all around the court.

"Mm not going to lie I think we should do the bigger pack it's literally okay me, you, Ashlynn, KK, Inês, Amari, Aubrey, and Paige" Jana says. "I think 75 is fine we are not eating all that " Amari laughs. "Plus we get like 3 basket of fries and then the veggie's" Ashlynn says before we get interrupted by kk and Paige's stomping as they stop in front of us.

I start laughing as I read the tiny description "this says that the 50 piece accommodates for six to nine people and we're only eight" I breathe out as the others laugh. "Baby what party of nine is getting full with 50 pieces of wings" kk says making us laugh "that's literally like five a person" I add which sends us all to break out in more laughter.

We had finally made it all to my place where the girls were on my living room floor playing Fortnite on my PlayStation waiting for the food to get delivered.

"Do you need any help?" Inês asks as I'm batting up cookie dough "mm can you just take out the baking sheet it's on the side right there and place parchment paper please" she nods and does so. "How do you casually have cookie dough" she laughs "cookie dough is a good snack and if I ever want cookies I can just pop it in the oven" I shrug.

"You made it or bought it?" "Made of course" "soo hey what's up with you and p... I haven't seen y'all talk in exactly 5 days" she says placing the items next to me. "Inês are you counting?" I chuckle "duh I love y'all together" she shrugs sitting on the stool.

"Mm she has yet to apologize for being an ass" I says which causes her to laugh "inês that is not funny why I are you laughing" I chuckle awkwardly. "Maddie I aspire to be just like you" "no cookies for you" "I'm kidding sorry I love you" she apologizes by going over to hug me.

"She told me I was bitchy and she was talking to the biggest bop- opp I mean sorry" she stands and looks at me as I place the dough on the sheet. "Well I guess I see your point I just hope you two can be together again" she shrugs.

"We are together just not on speaking terms" I smile.
