William's heart raced as he swiped to accept the call, his curiosity overpowering his apprehension. "Hello?" he spoke, his voice betraying a rare vulnerability.

Silence hung heavy on the line for a moment, causing William's impatience to flare. "Hello?" he repeated, the word tinged with an edge of frustration.

Suddenly, a deep, almost playful voice crackled through the receiver, sending an involuntary shiver down William's spine. "Hah, I finally found you~"

William's brow furrowed as he gripped the phone tighter "Who is this?" he demanded, yet his tone remained calm however, laced with a mix of confusion and apprehension.

The stranger's chuckle was low and unsettling, like the rumble of distant thunder. "Why don't you guess?" the voice whirred, sending a chill down the young man's spine. "I'm an old friend... one you've been trying very hard to forget."

William's brow creased further in bewilderment as the stranger's words sank in, "Is...Is This some kind of Joke?" William asked, anxious in his feet

"Hmm?" the unknown man mused, "What's this? I thought they were joking." the man chuckled, "Good thing, I tried to do a little test. I guess the rumours were true. Usually, you would have known who I am just by my voice," the man answered, his tone laced with a strange amusement.

William squinted his eyes in scrutiny, utterly baffled by the caller's implication. "I'm...sorry, I think you've got the wrong number," he began, his finger poised to end the call, fearing for his safety.

"Wait! Don't drop this call," the man suddenly interjected, his voice taking on a desperate edge that gave William pause as he heard the man.

Curiosity warring with disquiet, William hesitated for a moment, his grip tightening on the phone as he stared at the lit screen before placing it before his ear, "what do you want?" he spoke firmly, though he could feel his anxiety bubbling up from the back of his throat. He was utterly stumped by the situation, unsure of how to proceed.

"Well, other than missing your voice, I just want to give you a notice in case you're not aware," the man replied, his tone ominous.

William's brow crimped. "What notice?" he asked cautiously, his curiosity piqued despite his growing sense of foreboding.

"I've been adamant long enough to tell you this concern, as your old friend whom you might have sadly forgotten," the man began, his words causing William's heart to skip a beat, "But what I need you to do right now is to be careful who approaches you on the streets or those who you are close with - particularly those who look deceptive or appear to be approachable or harmless. In other words, don't trust anyone you meet or engage with."

William's mind raced, struggling to make sense of the stranger's cryptic warning. "But don't mistake my words thinking that I'm trying to isolate you," the man continued. "It's a caution to be careful around people, especially when you're alone. It's for your safety."
