Silvershine's Destiny

Chapter 10

Silvershine gazed at Dapplewish's three tiny kits.

"They're beautiful!" she purred, "Have you named them yet?"

"Yes," replied Dapplewish, "The white she-kit is Icekit, the calico is Flamekit, the tortoiseshell is Leafkit, and the gray tom is Stormkit."

"Those are beautiful names." said Silvershine.

"Yes, they'll be fine warriors one day."

Silvershine said goodbye to Dapplewish and padded into the clearing.

It had started snowing a few days ago and the clearing was covered in a layer of ankle deap snow.

Silvershine shook snow off her tail and padded into the forest.

She had been searching for signs of here Mapleleaf had went but there wasn't a trace.

Silvershine had only taken a few paw steps into the forest when she smelled Ivyclan scent.

"Show yourself!" she called, "I know you're out there."

Snadpelt emerged sheepishly from behind a bush.

"Trespasser!" snarled Silvershine, "What are you doing here?"

"I'm sorry Silvershine," said Sandpelt, "your sister is devasted, she regrets running away, she can't go back to Hollyclan though. Mapleleaf really misses you, she knows that you did the right thing in telling, she knows better than anyone that she would have kept visiting me. It would be better to for her to make a decide between me and her clan than to keep sneaking out at night. If you ever have the time come please go see her. We're living by the waterfall, the one with cherry blossoms. She doesn't expect you to come, but if you want to please come some time."

"Oh, I'll think about it." said Silvershine. Mapleleaf misses me? Why didn't she come herslef then? All right, probably because she knew I would try bring her back to Hollyclan.

"Is Mapleleaf okay?" asked Silvershine.

"Yes," said Sandpelt, "she's expecting my kits!"

"That's wonderful news," said Silvershine,  "Tell her I said hi, you should go now."

"Okay."

Silvershine warily approached the waterfall, "Hello?" she called.

It had been around a moon since Sandpelt had told her where he and Mapleleaf were living.

"Silvershine?" Mapleleaf padded out into the open.

"Mapleleaf!"

"What are you doing here?" asked Mapleleaf, "I'm not going back to Hollyclan. I made my desision and I'm sticking to it."

"I'm not going to try make you come back," explained Silvershine, "Sandpelt told me you were living here, I wantd to see how you were."

"Oh, come with me."

Mapleleaf lead her to a bramble bush.

"I've given birth to my kits!" said Mapleleaf, "Here!"

"Awwww, they're so cute!"

There was a pale yellow she-kit, a pale gray tom, and tortoiseshell.

"The yellow one is Honeykit, for Sandpelt's sister, the gray tom is Skykit, and the tortoiseshell is Rosekit." said Mapleleaf, "I decided to give them clan names even though Sandpelt and I are loners now."

"Okay," said Silvershine, "I have to go now, see you again soon."
