"I want to leave."

Sora's expression turns to one of worry from the irritation in my voice. She quickly grabs my elbow and guides me a couple steps away from the rest of the group, her eyes searching mine for an explanation. "What's going on?" She asks, genuinely concerned. I lean in close and begin to explain what happened just a few moments ago in the kitchen.

Sora's eyes are wide as she listens intently. Once I finish my brief rant, she pulls me into her arms for a hug. "Are you okay?" She asks, pulling me away at arms length, so that she can look into my eyes when I give her an answer.

I give her a half-hearted shrug, "I will be once I leave this party."

Sora nods in understanding and tells me to wait here for a moment. I watch as she walks over to Savannah, who is a giggling mess as she clings onto River. Sora pulls her aside and begins to speak to her in a hushed tone. I observe from a distance as Sora explains the situation to Savannah, and I see her eyes widen in surprise as she starts searching for me. As soon as our eyes meet, Savannah grabs Sora's hand and pulls her over to where I stand alone.

"I'm going to kill him!" She exclaims, pulling me into a hug. I hastily shush her, not wanting to draw attention from Rowan's bandmates. "What a fucking asshole," she continues, gripping me tightly. My head snaps back as she suddenly yanks me away from her grasp, her eyes scanning the room frantically. "Where is he?" She demands, her voice filled with urgency.

"I'm pretty sure he's somewhere smoking weed."

She starts to storm off, her fists clenched and her face contorted in anger. I quickly grab her arm, knowing that she has a tendency to act impulsively when she's both drunk and mad. I don't want her to do something she'll regret later. "Let's just go home, okay?" I say, my voice soft and pleading. I can see the fire in her eyes start to die down, but she's still fuming. I know it's best to just remove ourselves from the party before the issue escalates any further.

"Can I at least tell River? Maybe he can put a stop to this."

I shake my head, "I plan on never seeing him again. I'd rather just move on from this right here, right now."

She stares at me with a furrowed brow and pursed lips, clearly displeased with my answer. I can see the conflict in her eyes, but eventually she lets out a heavy sigh and reluctantly says, "okay, I guess."

Pleased with her response, my lips curl into a small smile. "Thank you."

"Before we leave, I just have to say a quick goodbye to River. Maybe I'll even get a kiss out of him. Fingers crossed!"

As they prepare to say goodbye to River and Noah, I can't help but feel a twinge of guilt for making them leave the party so early. Sora was clearly hitting it off with Noah before I swooped in and whisked her away, and Savannah was on the verge of getting her long-awaited kiss from River.
