"When preparing to travel, lay out all of your clothes and all of your money. Then take half the clothes and twice the money"

(Sarah's POV)

Because of us fighting against time, our uber driver was speeding down the road. Dad was yelling in his ear about God knows what, Rose looked like she was about to start praying, Rafe was looking out the window, probably trying to distract himself from the fact that we could die at any moment, and Wheezie was on her phone like always.

While this was all happening, I couldn't stop thinking about what happened at John B's house. I knew deep down that he was not okay so I don't know why seeing him like this hit me so hard. Obviously, I still care about him but it was important that we made the decision that we did. Right?

Before my mind could wander further, I noticed a plane above our car and at first I was worried but then I realized that we arrived at the airport. When we parked in the uber drop off section, my Dad thanked the driver as we all got out the car to get our luggage from the truck.

"Make sure you don't leave anything behind," Rose reminded as she grabbed her suitcase. "Is everyone ready to go?"

I nodded and so did Rafe and Wheezie so we started making our way into the airport. We stopped at the service desk first to drop off bags.

"And where are you flying to?" the worker asked.

"The Bahamas!" my Dad answered.

"Ah, that's nice! Me and my family went to the Bahamas when I was 15. It was-"

"I would love to hear about how fun you had but we have to hurry to our gate!" Dad interrupted.

"I was actually going to say it sucked and we got hate crimed-"

"Toodeloo!"

I actually hid my head in my hands from the embarrassment as we walked away from the desk and towards security search. Thanks to us being rich, we had special passes so we got to pretty much skip TSA and go straight to the waiting area. While we were walking through the express area, two officers stopped us.

"Sorry, but you guys need to go through the regular security line," one of the officers ordered and my Dad looked really angry.

"What do you mean? We have special passes to go through the express area!" he insisted, holding up the passes.

"Unfortunately, all express passes have been suspended," the officer informed. Dad was so angry you could see the smoke coming out of his ears like in those cartoons.

"You cannot be serious."

"Oh, I'm very serious."

"I'll have you know I-"

"Come on Ward," Rose stopped him. "Let's just get in line before it gets even longer."

He pouted before making one last threat. "This won't be the end of this."

We turned around and went to get in line for TSA. Thankfully, the line was surprising not that long so it didn't take long to get through security search. Once, we all got pass, we finally made our way towards the gates. The time was currently 10:54 so we didn't have much time and needed to get on the plane quickly.

"WAIT!" My dad yelled, interrupting our rush to the plane. "I need to get my pretzel."

"Are you kidding me?! We literally have like 6 minutes," Rose informed.

"Okay, but I want my pretzel. I've been thinking about that pretzel since I woke up this morning."

"Oh my god, fine. But please hurry up. We will leave you if we must," Rose threatened and Dad jumped cheerfully as he ran to the pretzel concession stand. If there was one thing my Dad loved more than annoying me it was a damn pretzel.
