Rabies (Part 2)

Time skip-

Yuan and Sarah assembled the tents right beside the waterfall that is not too far from them. Yuan fix his things while he sits in the log while Sarah walks out of the tent while she's looking on her phone.

She then looks at Yuan. "Yuan, we need to find some sticks to create a bonfire. Accompany me im gonna find some."

"Okay wait..." Yuan closes his bag and leaves it beside the log where he's sitting.

Yuan and Sarah are now walking in the woods to search for some woods they can use for bonfire.

Sarah sees another fallen branch of a tree and she picks it up before she walks again and look for some more. Yuan do the same.

They are busy looking for sticks until Sarah notice someone walking in the woods. She saw a man that looks 50 or above. He's holding a hunting rifle while he looks around the place. Probably looking for something. He looks like a hunter.

Sarah decided to walks up to him. Yuan looks at her and follows her from behind. "Hi. Are you also here for a camping trip?" Sarah ask.

The man looks at her and turn to her. "What are you doing here?" The man ask. His voice sounds worried.

"Huh?" Sarah said.

"This place is dangerous. You cant just go in here." Yuan and Sarah didn't understand what he actually means.

"Sorry but, what do you mean?" Sarah ask. "What do you mean dangerous?"

"Dogs." The man said. "There's a lot of mad dogs in this place. That's why it's dangerous here."

"We didn't see any dogs around. But we did saw some dog collars. What is going on in here sir?" Yuan ask. He walks closer.

"You'll soon find out. But if you guys want to stay here, go ahead. Just make sure you can take care of yourself against the wild animals here. Im not talking about bears, deers or snakes. Im talking about dogs." The man starts to walk away and leave Sarah and Yuan confused.

Night-

Sarah is looking at the bonfire in front of her while sitting in the log. Her body is cover with blanket due to the cold wind. Yuan arrives while holding something and he walks towards Sarah and sits beside her.

"Here," Yuan offers Sarah some oat bars from the box and Sarah takes one and rips open the plastic as she stares in the sky.

"Do you remember what that man said?" Sarah ask Yuan. She took a bite of the oat bar.

"Do you believe him?"

"I don't know. I already seen a lot of weird stuff in this place already."

"Well i guess we just have to relax." Yuan puts his arms in Sarah's shoulder as she puts her head to Yuan's shoulder.

"You know what makes this day more special?" Sarah ask Yuan with a smile.

"What is it?" Yuan looks at her.

"When im with you." Sarah looks at Yuan and Yuan smiles at her.

Yuan kiss her in the lips while Sarah kiss him back. "I love you." Yuan said.

"I love you too." Then they both looks at the moon in the sky in front of them while they enjoy that great moment.

"Can i interrupt the both of you?" They hear a voice of a man that is walking beside them. Yuan and Sarah looks at it and they saw the man earlier. He is holding a plate with cook fish. "Here, do you guys eat river fish?" The man offers them the food that he's holding.

The next thing happen is Sarah and Yuan are sitting in a folding chair where the man is camping. They are eating some rice and fish that the man shared to them. Well, his name is Eddie.

"You're so nice. You even share your food to us. Thanks." Yuan said as he eats with his hands.

"You're both welcome. I actually lives in this place with my wife. Are you guys married?" Eddie said as he eats.

"Not yet." Yuan answers.

"So how's your life? Like, what is your daily thing?" Sarah ask.

"Now that you ask, im actually guarding this forest. Believe it or not." Eddie place his plate in the ground beside him. "Im keeping the people in this place safe. That's why im worried about both of you. I've seen a lot of creatures roaming around this forest..."

Flashback...

"One day while im walking into the woods, i saw some footprints on the ground that looks like a dog. Well i follow them and it leads me to a trash can... That looks like something takes something in there and it just leaves the trash scattered. Sometimes i just leave my tent for a while and when i came back, someone took some of the meats i just left over there. And one day... I saw a dog running towards me for no reason. It's so obvious that it's going to attack me that's why i shoot it with my rifle."

Flashback ends...

"So be careful around here." Yuan and Sarah just looks at the man while hearing his story.

"But Eddie, do you have any idea about that... Dome over there?" Sarah ask about the dome that she find earlier.

"It's been there for a really long time. I tried to go in there to check it but there's some people guarding it. I don't know anything about that."

"Do you think there are more dogs in this place? Is it really dangerous in this place that we have to get out of here?" Yuan ask.

"I think so. But it's not safe to leave this place at night. Its so dark you know." Eddie said. "You may meet some dogs on your way. Golden retrievers, Huskies, Chihuahua..."

Sarah and Yuan already finishes their food and hands the plate to Eddie. Sarah ask if Eddie needs help of washing the dishes but Eddie declines her offer.

"How long will you guys stay in here?" Eddie ask them.

"Uhm... Maybe 2 more days." Sarah said.

"If you guys want, you can stay to our house of my wife. If you want."

Sarah and Yuan look at each other and they think for a while before...... They agreed with it.
