2. taking bumpy

you chose: bring bumpy!

"lets bring bumpy, that mystery dino is still out there, she'll warn us if it gets too close" we all nod and start to get ready.

hap calls to us before we go, "I'll stay back here, I'll clean up and try to find food, you kids be careful, you hear?" we all smile and nod.

I walk up to hap and hug him, he hugged me back before letting me go. I wave to him as we start our journey to the raptor paddock.

we reached the paddock, kenji shuddered, "God the memories.."

I chuckled, "your fault for dropping the phone like a dumbass.. ow!" I said, rubbing the back of my head, where kenji had just struck. I could feel ben's eyes on me the entire time.

"darius, go up on the balcony, tell us when we get close to it" darius nodded at my words and made his way up.

we sneakily walked into the paddock. there seemed to be no signs of life in here, but why would there? the girls have always hated being enclosed in here, I wouldn't be surprised if they ran the moment they could.

we all walked with caution, I was next to kenji. we heard some rustling and he quickly hid behind me. it turned out to just be bumpy playing. I rolled my eyes as he sighed. ben would look back at us every so often, with a weird look in his eyes, and it wasnt a happy look.

darius was above us, trying to figure out where exactly the note would be.

"no sign of raptors.." Ben whispered

"are we close D?" I yelled out, "I think its a little to the left" he responded.

we all started walking, "a little more..keep going" he said.

I came up to a bush, "this one?" I asked, darius sent me a thumbs up. I got on my hands and knees, searching for the paper.

at first, I saw nothing. but then I noticed a white piece of paper in the middle. I quickly grabbed it and got up.

"found it!"

they all ran to me. I straighten the paper out and began to read it.

"Owen, y/n, they're after me. I got too close. I hope you stay safe. but if you ever feel like you aren't, go to the hidden adventure. you'll find everything you need. remember, only when we touch the sky, can we truly see, and the way in, is the beginning of the end. your friend, HB."

we all looked at each other, uncertain.

"is that his signature?" yaz pointed out. I nodded, "it's a cool signature, I used to copy it when I was younger."

"touching the sky? the beginning of the end? its a bunch of nothing!" kenji said.

"or its a clue?" brooklyn questioned, taking the note from me.

"I don't know about brimford, but the hidden adventure, is that like, an attraction or something?" darius asked, turning to me.

"yeah actually, it was going to be a new section of the park. I was actually supposed to help train a tarbosaurus for it, but then the indominus happened."

"do you know where it's located?" darius asked, I shook my head, "nope, brimford only ever told me that I would be helping train a dinosaurs for it."

"oh, I know where we can find out! remember the book I had with all the secret park facts?" sammy said, "maybe we can find another copy on main street!" sammy suggested

"or we could check a security office down in the tunnels, see if we can find it on the cameras." brooklyn said.

"sorry sam, but I pick security office. tunnels are farther, but main street is t.rex territory" yaz says

"she cant be there all the time!" sammy argued, "I still think main street is the way to go.."

darius turned to me,

"what do you think y/n?"

we started walking, when suddenly, bumpy turned around and started to sniff a rock. another rock rolled out and my blood ran cold. there was something in here with us. and I had a feeling that I knew who.

"bumpy?" Ben said, confused.

I put my arm in front of him, protectively. "we need to go." I urged, everyone turned to me in confusion, but I stayed staring at where in the bushes bumpy had started to sniff. but I knew better. blue was a clever girl.

blue popped out of the bushes, looking at bumpy, and then at us. she roared and ran at us.

we all started running, but Ben ran to bumpy. blue quickly ran after him, just barely missing him.

quickly I yelled out, "hey!"

blue turned to me, growling.

I gulped, this was a stupid, stupid idea. shaking, I held my hand up, like me and Owen did during training.

"eyes on me girl."

blue looked at me, stalking closer. in the corner of my eye I could see Ben jump on bumpy

"hey...I know we haven't seen each other in a while, but I'm still your alpha. you still listen to me, understand?"

blue growled, and was getting ready to pounce. bumpy ran towards us and hit blue with her tail, Ben quickly pulled me up and we ran towards where the others ran.

darius was at the gate, and I quickly pulled him up with us. he held onto my waist as bumpy ran.

we both looked back at the paddock

I whispered, to no one in particular, "she's alone, her pack isnt with her."

darius and I looked at eachother, where are the girls?

we quickly reunited with the others, darius got off of bumpy as I leaned on bens back, hugging him from behind, "that was close" darius said, Ben breathed heavily as he agreed. he got off bumpy and turned to me. grabbing my hand, he helped me off (although I didn't need any help).

bumpy started to walk away, "uh oh, whats wrong bumps?" I asked. ben walked over to her, my hand still in his. "I think bumpy wants to go back to camp" Ben called out to the others.

I petted bumpy on the snout, "too much fun and danger today, huh girl?" "we'll bring you back something special, okay?" ben added.

we watch bumpy leave. I turn to everyone.

"so, as I was saying..."
