The next morning, Kaveh woke up especially early to inform his friends about his return. He dressed up lazily and went to Cyno and Tighnari's dorm.
The door was opened by a half awake Cyno that was rubbing his eyes with his thumbs, something Kaveh had never seen before. It took Cyno a good minute to fully open his eyes and realise who he had opened the door for. As he saw Kaveh, his eyes widened. He hugged the blonde, pulling him inside of the dorm and slamming the door behind them.
"Where the hell were you? We were worried sick!" He said a bit too loudly, which woke up Tighnari, who walked out of his room in pajamas and began to scold Cyno about yelling.
Kaveh sighed as he listened to Tighnaris angry morning voice. Maybe it had been a bad idea to go there so early in the morning. He was snapped out of his thoughts by Tighnaris hand on his shoulder.
"Kaveh! You idiot. Where have you been?" He asked, his tone more judgmental than worried.
"I got lost with Alhaitham..." The taller male responded awkwardly. "But we're good now!" He added as he gave a little thumbs up, trying to lighten the mood.
"To celebrate your return, let's play a round of TCG!" Cyno said excitedly as he grabbed Kavehs wrist. Kaveh didn't fight back. He had missed this.

That round turned into ten. They didn't stop until Tighnari yanked the cards from their hands, saying that they were going back to sumeru in 2 hours and they needed to pack.
"We're going back already? It felt like we didn't do any activities while we were here..." Kaveh protested with a confused expression.
"No, sweetie. You didn't do any activities because you were fighting for your life at a fatui base." Tighnari answered before patting the blonde's shoulder and smiling at him.
"Alhaithams fault." Kaveh said, gaining side eyes from both of his friends.

The process of packing and traveling back to sumeru was quite boring, just the usual chatting with friends, kissing his now boyfriend, and sleeping with his head on his shoulder. The only unusual thing was the judgemental looks they got from teachers, but they chose not to think much of it.
...though that changed after the lessons for the day ended and Kaveh was told to go to detention for running away from an excursion. They should have been worried, not mad, this was ridiculous. And the most ridiculous thing was that Wanderer didn't even get scolded, but he ran away too...

Kaveh sighed as he opened the door to the very familiar detention room. He walked in, the teacher wasn't there. The only person there was..Alhaitham! Talking on his phone...was that deja-vu Kaveh was feeling?
He waved at his boyfriend before sitting down right next to him. He waited for a couple of seconds before Alhaitham ended the call.
"So princess, we still get punished after all we went through, don't we?" He commented.
"I've told you, I am NOT your princess!" Kaveh responded, making shre to really emphasize the "not" part.
"Hmmm, okay..." the gray-haired male said with a smirk. "But I've gotta be honest. Im glad all that happened. It brought us closer." He said before grabbing kavehs chin and kissing him.
Kaveh was taken aback by the sudden kiss, but he returned it nevertheless.
They made out for a minute before Kaveh finally realised that it was risky to do this in the detention room. He tried to pull away, but Alhaithams grip was too tight. He didn't want the kiss to stop.
"Love, please," kaveh managed to pull away enough to whisper, the feeling of kaveh soft breath against Alhaithams lips sending a shiver down his spine.
"It's okay, no one will see us." Alhaitham whispered, and as soon as that was said, both of their phones begab to blow up with messeges.

Alhaitham scoffed before shamelessly slapping the blonde.
"You annoy me so much, you know that?" He said before gently caressing the cheek he had just slapped. "But i love you"
"I love you too" kaveh said genuinely this time, looking Alhaitham deep in the eyes.
Suddenly the room door opened and a teacher stepped in...
She froze as she saw the two so close.
