Elyse slowly blinked awake, inhaling sharply when she noticed her hands were cuffed in front of her, and she was currently laying outside on the grass. She looked around and realized she was inside some sort large cage, about the size of a bedroom, with dirty metal bars all around the perimeter.
Elyse gasped as the events of the previous night flooded back into her mind. She shot up to her feet at once, cringing at the lightheadedness that followed, to begin searching desperately for Desmond.
"Desmond?!"
She cried and started to panic when she realized he was not in the cage with her. She pressed her face up against the bars and looked around as far as her eyes would permit. It was only grass and trees as far as she could see. She wondered where the man was that had captured them, and what he'd done with Desmond.
"Desmond!"
She screamed out again, as loud as she could muster. She began pacing back and forth now and digging her hands through her messy brown hair, searching for a sign of what to do next. She walked past a large, blue, water jug that looked full of dirty water. She guessed that was supposed to keep her alive out there.
She wondered how long they would keep her trapped there, how long she would have to wait to see if Desmond was okay or not. She couldn't figure what they'd possible want from them.
She suddenly recalled the events before Benjamin Linus had come to take them, the way her and Desmond had almost kissed. She could practically smell his sweet, liquor scented breath while she relived the moment briefly.
Suddenly, she was ripped from her daydream by the sound of someone approaching, and what sounded like keys dangling. She peeked out from the corner, unsure what she should expect, and felt relief when she saw it was Desmond who was being escorted toward her by a large man who she didn't recognize.
Her relief was very short lived when they got closer and she noticed the state of his injured face, it was even worse than when he'd gotten into it with Dean. He looked as if he were barely conscious while the man dragged him forward, unlocking the cage door and throwing him in so that his back hit the ground with a thud.
"Desmond?! Desmond, can you hear me?"
She ran over to him and placed her hands on his face while tears began to well up in her eyes. She couldn't understand what these people wanted from them, and she knew there was nothing she could do to protect him, even though she would give anything to do so.
"Elyse?"
He spoke quietly with a weak, raspy, voice, while he blinked his swollen eye-lids open.
"Yes, I'm here! What happened? What did they do to you?"
She cried, petting his wild hair gently while she examined the extend of his injuries further.
"Alright that's enough, he wants to see you next."
The large, middle-aged man with silver hair, that had dropped Desmond off, interrupted them.
He grabbed her arm and yanked her to her feet at once, causing her to wince in pain.
"No.."
Desmond muttered out in almost a whisper while he seemed to be fighting to stay awake.
"Wait! What does he want with us?!"
She screamed, pulling and yanking herself away from the man with all her might, though she knew it was no use.
It only made him angry, or so it seemed, when he proceeded to dig his fingers deeper into her arm."You'll come with me willingly, or I'll tase you until you do."
He said dryly, stopping to stare at her as if he were waiting for her to decide, while he pulled a taser from his belt and pointed it at her.
