"Desmond!?"

Elyse gasped when they arrived at the room he was currently being held in, and she caught a first glimpse of him. He was tied to a chair, with a cloth across his mouth so that he couldn't speak. His face was caked in blood, along with the stray pieces of his wild hair that stuck to it.

The man who'd led her here, with her hands behind her back, threw her down onto the tile floor and slammed the door behind them. Elyse hit the ground with a thud, wincing in pain when her elbow took most of the impact.

"Well, how wonderful is it that you two managed to make your way back to each other so soon?"

Benjamin spoke now into the eerily silent room, which was so bright it was practically glowing, with its pristine-white floors and walls to match, all under a ridiculous amount of LED lights.

"What do you want from us? Let him go! Don't hurt him and I'll do whatever you want!"

Elyse begged him in desperation. Her blue eyes filled with tears when they met with Desmond's golden ones, filled with deep fear.

Desmond grunted and struggled beneath the cloth that cover his mouth, likely trying to protest her offer, though it was no use.

"Slow down now sweetheart, I've already spared Desmond, you see. He came into my camp with a gun and shot three of my men. Some of my best might I add. Yet here, he lives."

He explained dryly before gesturing toward him like it were a miracle he was still alive.

Elyse's stomach dropped when she processed what he'd said. Desmond killed three people? She couldn't necessarily blame him, when they were likely trying to capture him or kill him themselves, though she just couldn't imagine Desmond as a someone willing to kill people, in any circumstance.

She wasn't sure what to feel now, but she knew for sure she didn't feel safe. If Ben was letting Desmond live after that, there must be something truly important to him that he wanted them to do. And anything important to Ben, couldn't be good for anyone else.

"What was the 'mission' you wanted us to complete?"

She asked him solemnly, staring at Desmond the whole time, solely because she just couldn't take her eyes off of him. All she wanted was to run to him, to feel his strong arms around her and to know everything would be okay regardless of what was to come.
She didn't know where they stood, or what Desmond's feelings were for her or Penny or anything at all, but she knew one thing. She was falling in love with him, and there wasn't anything she could do to stop it.

"Perfect, well I figured Desmond would be happy to hear I've decided not to kill his precious Penny!"

He exclaimed, overly-enthusiastically before clapping his hands and continuing on.

"I did some thinking and what I want more than revenge on Charles Widmore, is to take back what's rightfully mine."

He told them, turning on his heel at once to approach Desmond now.

"Of course, who would be better to go and get it for me than you, Desmond. You know him, where he works, where he lives. And if he's moved locations, you know his daughter even better."

He smiled, a malicious smile, while Desmond stared back at him with terror in his eyes.

"Who knows, maybe you two were truly meant to be hm? Now's your chance to see her again."

He kept his grin and turned abruptly to see Elyse's face, knowing exactly what he was doing, while she felt her heart sink and fought to keep a straight face.
