~CONTINUATION~

The next day

Both Miyamoto and Lara were at the Samurai Association with the other samurais, discussing the demons that had been attacking villages. Lara, feeling guilty and sorry, thought this was all her fault. After the discussion, she went to the garden at the place and stood there silently, thinking about what she could do to stop these demons. Despite fighting them, the demons continued to attack and harm humans randomly.
Miyamoto noticed her coldness and walked towards her. He put his hand on her shoulder and leaned in, concerned. "Lara, you seem to be overthinking something. What's wrong?"

"These demons...they're getting on my nerves," Lara replied in a cold tone, clenching her fist.

Miyamoto noticed her coldness, a new thing to him. He gave a deep sigh, chuckled, and flashed a bright smile. He patted her head and rubbed her head. "Don't overthink too much. We'll figure everything out soon. We just need to get rid of these demons and continue protecting everyone." Miyamoto said in a joking and positive tone.

Lara crossed her arms across her chest, sighed, and went silent after. Miyamoto noticed how cold she was and was concerned about her well-being. With a deep sigh, he started walking away.

In a joking manner, Miyamoto muttered to himself, "We've been hunting demons lately. We're demon hunters now. Hilarious." He chuckled to himself as he walked away.

Lara watched Miyamoto walk away, then looked away and up at the sky. She spread her wings wide and flew away, surprising Miyamoto with the sudden gust of wind as he felt the breeze pushing him softly. He turned to watch Lara as she flew away, smiling and chuckling at the sight.

After landing in a nearby forest, Lara walked around for a bit, taking in her new surroundings. The area was peaceful with plenty of trees to explore, and it was a welcome change of pace after the constant hunting of demons.

Few minutes later, demons appeared as they surrounded her. Lara looked around at them, giving them a cold glare.

"What do you really want from me?" she spoke to them in Abyssal, her native language.

One of the demons approached her, raising a hand towards her. They spoke to her in Abyssal language:

"The hell, we're waiting for you, Lara. Come with us and no one will get hurt anymore."

Lara looked up at them, thinking about it.

Suddenly, the Angel Knight arrived, surrounded her as she looked at them. One of the Angel Knights stepped forward, pointing a divine sword at her. They spoke to her in Abyssal language:

"Surrender now, Nephalem. Come with us."

The demons were stunned by those words, and the demon pointed their unholy demonic spear towards the Angel Knight, speaking to them:

"Step back, she's ours. We won't let that happen."

Suddenly, the Angel Knight swung their sword and hit the demon's spear, knocking it away. As the fight broke out, other demons attacked the Angel Knights, but the angels fought back bravely. Lara had had enough, and she released a powerful energy that mixed holy and demonic energy. The energy shot out, pushing the demons and angels away from each other.

"I apologize," Lara said to them, "but I will not be joining either of you."

Both the angels and demons grew angry and charged at her as one. Lara knew this would happen and prepared to defend herself.

Lara held her katana and unsheathed it, then began swaying the blade in a swift, fast motion, releasing powerful demonic divine slashes. The energy from her katana blade struck the angels and demons, slashing and burning them. Despite the damage she inflicted on them, several of them were still alive and moved towards her at incredible speeds. Lara held her katana at the ready, then swayed it again, releasing multiple demonic flaming slashes. These slashed and killed every Angel Knight, and the demons as well. She then swayed her katana again, releasing several holy divine fire slashes, finishing off the demons.
When her work was done, she surveyed the scene, looking for any trace of an abyss aura, but found none. She let out a sigh of relief.

After the intense battle, Lara rushed back to the hut, only to find it engulfed in flames. She searched for Miyamoto, using her powers to detect any signs of him, but found nothing. She suspected he might not be there. Upon arriving at the village, she was stunned to see the extent of the carnage. The demons were flying everywhere, killing humans and setting their homes on fire. It was chaos.

Determined to protect the innocent, Lara began killing demons, slashing them with her katana imbued with holy power. She saved as many humans as she could, hiding their in safe areas as she continued her hunt, taking down more demons and rescuing the hostages.
Meanwhile, Miyamoto had been captured by the leader of the demon group.

Miyamoto was in agony, his body twitching and trembling as he struggled against the chains that bound him. He was covered in wounds, his kimono barely covering his skin. Previously, he had been in a vegetable patch, fending off demon attacks with his katana. The demons blew flames at him, but he managed to dodge them, even as the fire engulfed his home. Suddenly, the demon leader appeared, using his demonic telekinesis to capture Miyamoto and lifting him into the air.

The demon leader spoke to him with a sinister tone, "You must be the Nephalem's partner," he said. "Your companion Nephalem was too stubborn, so we were forced to capture you. We'll torture you until she thinks you're missing and comes looking for you. When we catch her, we'll force her to join our forces and help us destroy this world." The demon laughed evilly, and the other demons laughed with him. Miyamoto was stunned and afraid of the potential consequences. The demons took him away, holding him as their hostage.
