I got ready to start boiling the pasta and was adding spices to the sauce for the dish to make it taste nicer. The only thing i was waiting on was Schlatt, who was still in our room.

He was supposed to be working on the vegetables and whatever else he chose to make, but he's still not here. Who else can say they are not surprised?

"Nora?" Ted called from behind me in the kitchen.

"Ted, it's going to be a while longer, i still need Schlatt's help," i shouted back to him.

"You know what? i'll just come and help you," he says as he goes to get up from the couch.

"Sit down, Ted," i said, laughing, "There's a reason why you aren't helping right now."

"Are you insulting my cooking skills?" he said, walking into the kitchen with an offended look on his face.

"Once again, i am," i replied.

"Watch yourself Nora your sleeping in my house," he threatened me.

"No, i'm sleeping in your apartment, not house," i said, joking back.

The thing is, with Ted is that i can always rely on him. We have been friends for years, and he's always stood by me.

We will always get along, but it's the distance and mostly my financial state that's the problem. If i had the money i'd buy an apartment right beside him tomorrow.

I mean this is the first time i've seen him in awhile so i want to make the most of it while i still have a few days left, but with Schlatt i don't know what's going on there.

I know he likes me, but i'm not sure what to do. Or how do i tell Ted what happened with him. I'm still pretty sure Ted's still mad about what he has done. I should just relax and talk with schlatt later. Maybe he'll figure out something.

"You know, i think Schlatt's really starting to come around." Ted said as he looked to the bedroom door, making sure schlatt wasn't there.

" i think he's finally starting to come around and be more comfortable around you," he finished his statement.

" He had a problem with being comfortable around me?" i joked with Ted, but his face remains still.

"He loves you, Nora, and he's really beating himself up about everything. He knows he was an asshole and i'm pretty sure that's what he told you. " Ted continues as he wiggles his eyebrows

I froze as I heard those words exit Ted's mouth. Surely, he's not in love with me...

"What did he say, Nora?" Ted asked as he noticed my quietness.

" he just apoligiesd," i repiled as i stared intensively into the red sauce that i was making, my mind now elsewhere.

"You sure he didn't say anything else?" Ted asked..

Maybe i should tell Ted about what happened, i mean, it wasn't that bad, right?

" Actually-" i stated before i heard the New York accent behind me.

" oh sorry is there an apartment meeting that i wasn't invited to?" schlatt laughed as he walked up to the fridge, getting out the vegetables glancing over at me, quickly looking away.

"No, there isn't." Ted removed his eyes from me to glare at schlatt.

"Why's everyone in the kitchen then?" schlatt asked with confusion in wide eyes, almost as if he knew something wrong.

"Waiting for you to start dinner, took you long enough," Ted stated hostily.

If by now schlatt hadn't realized the tension, i don't know what's wrong with him. Ted was definitely still angry at schlatt i had now realized.

" Oh well, you should've started without me," schlatt said as he came up beside me, brushing my shoulder to take out a cutting board. I could almost sense his smile, yet again.

"Oh, should we?" Ted narrows his eyes.

Ok, there's something seriously wrong with him, i thought before trying to cut in to break the tension..

"Ted-" i stated, hoping it would stop him and that we could all just start dinner.

"i'm going to the bathroom, have fun with him," Ted huffs as he breaks his heavy eye contact with schlatt walking away.

In the corner of my eye, i saw schlatt watching for Ted to leave and enter the bathroom.

i turned to go to the sink when i felt Schlatt come up behind me and wrap his arms around my waist from the back to wrap me in for a hug.

"What did he say to you?" he asks as he rests his head on top of mine, tightening his grip.

"Nothing really, but i still think he's mad," i said, turning my head to look at him.

"Yeah, no shit," he laughs as he lets go of me to start making dinner.

"Are you still mad?" he asks, looking over to me.

"Well, judging what happened half an hour ago, i think not," he adds on laughing hysterically as i hid my face, blushing.

"What did happen, schlatt?" i turned and faced him.

" we kissed," he says.

"Exactly, so what now? What happens when we leave?" i asked hestitanly.

"i was hoping you would've given me a few days before asking about that," he says as he sighs.

"What do you mean?"

"i mean, i was hoping you'd come back with me for a while too, Texas. i booked two tickets," he says, walking closer.

"You want me to come back to your house?" i said, stiffling a laugh.

He can't be serious...

" God, i knew you'd say no.." he says, breathing heavily out through his nose.

"Hold on, i didn't say no, just give me time to think about it, ok?" i replied, grabbing his hand and holding it.

"So there's a chance?" he says, smiling.

"i don't know, finish them vegetables i'm waiting for you.." i said laughing.

As soon as i asked to hurry up, he started chopping the vegetables really fast, which, by the way, they came out really uneven.

"Schlatt, what are you doing, there uneven?" i said, picking up parts of the uneven vegetables and laughing, showing him.

"The faster we eat, the more time i have to kiss you," he says, leaning down to kiss me but stopped by footsteps walking down the hallway.

"You guys nearly finished?" Ted shouted from the hallway, coming into view glancing at our akward state.

Schlatt stood next to me, us side by side, glancing at Ted with guilty eyes.

I never even realized that if i'm going to Texas with schlatt, i have to tell Ted..

"Ok then... I'll take your unresponsive answers as a yes because i am ready to eat, " he said as he sat down, opening up his phone scrolling.

well, that was akward....
