It was a breezy day in Crescent Island as the wind whistled through the trees with leaves of red and Amber dancing on the brisk breeze.
Milo and Shasha both naturally woke up at the same time, ribbing the tiredness out of their eyes as they rested in their soft mattresses for a few more minutes without any communication.
Morning brother!", Shasha was the first to speak, "good morning sister! Don't you just love how Sundays make you feel so lazy?", he questioned and she agreed.
"Well, we are going to have to get up eventually, so it might as well be now because I can smell waffles!", the pink haired girl spoke cheerfully as she could smell the delicious breakfast being cooked by their uncle.
"I guess your right and waffles do taste better when there warm, so let's get ready!", Milo said motivatedly and the twins got out of bed, taking it in turns to take a pleasant shower and get dressed into their usual clothes.
They both rushed downstairs and sat at the kitchen table as they saw their uncle Leo pouring syrup and adding whipped cream with blueberries onto their waffles.
"Well, it looks like my cooking woke up two lazy twelve year olds!", the older man teased as he served them their food and sat next to them to enjoy the waffles he had baked for himself too.
"Are we doing anything with you today uncle Leo?", the dark-haired boy questioned curiously, "well, I hope you guys haven't got anything planned for this morning, because you've got your flu shots today!", he informed them.
"Flu shots!", Milo repeated with chattering teeth, "what's a flu shot?", Shasha questioned in an oblivious tone.
"Flu shots are vaccines that prevent your body from catching the flu and helps your immune system fight against it, so you don't get it!", the brunette man enlightened his niece about why they get shots nearing the winter as that's when it's more common to catch them.
"Uncle Leo, do we have to get our flu shots?", the dark-haired boy spoke nervously, "do you want to catch a flu, which will make you feel terrible and stop you attending your maths classes!", he teased as he knows how much his nephew loves maths.
"I guess not, but me and needles aren't exactly friends!", he lowered his head, feeling his energy drop, "I've never had a shot before, but I hope I make friends with it!", his twin sister spoke enthusiastically.
"I know that needles can be unpleasant and scary, but I promise to hold your hand and not let go until it's over!", their uncle got up and placed a hand on his nephews shoulder and have him a as he spoke.
Once they had all finished eating the magnificent breakfast and helped their uncle wash up, they all sat inside the van, buckling their seatbelts as their relative turned his keys into the ignition and drove towards the GPS centre.
When he found a parking place, they all got out and headed inside the general practitioner centre, checking in with the receptionist, before patiently sitting in the waiting area.
While they were waiting for their names to be called, Leo noticed that the pink haired girl was swinging her legs in excitement, whereas her brothers legs were shaking from fear.
"You ok Milo?", the brunette man questioned sympathetically and he nodded a no with his head in response.
"It's ok to be nervous, but when your having your injection just focus your eyes on me and talk to me, ok buddy!", he cooed lovingly, wanting to help his nephew overcome his fear in anyway possible that he has every year.
"Shasha and Milo please follow me to have your flu vaccines done!", a bluenette woman walked up to them and spoke cheerfully with a smile on her face.
She lead the three of them into her office and the twins sat down on the rim of the hospital bed with their uncle sitting in his wheelchair next to them as he had his shot done last week.
