Benji's House Party
STORRS, CONNETICUT

Noa had Alita hanging off her arm, Azzi strolling in behind them like a bodyguard. The party seemed to pause in bated breath as they watched their campus star make an appearance. The football team stopped tapping kegs and chatting up girls the moment she stepped in; she was the main attraction, the centrepiece.

Paige was standing in a corner, talking to the woman she forgot she had texted in the heat of being overwhelmed by unexpected news. She began tuning her words out when her eyes locked onto the Argentine beauty grinning at the boys fighting over who gets to escort her for the night. She was too nice, entertaining them though their motives were apparent, Paige thought. Noa's eyes rolled upwards to glance at Paige briefly, before willing taking the hand of Benji, the captain of the football team with a great beam from ear to ear. The grip Paige had on her solo cup tightened, to a point where the plastic crinkled at its bent shape. She felt a hand palm her knuckles, prying her attention away from the scene over by the door.

"Are you okay? You're so clumsy!" She had punch dripping down the creases of her fingers from bending her cup. The girl started wiping her hands with the base of her dress, but Paige yanked her hand back.

"I'm gonna go wash my hands. Excuse me."

Much to Bea's protest, she left to look for her friends. Passing by an open trashcan, she tossed her cup into it. Spotting KK, Aubrey and Nika by the kitchen island turned bar, she jutted herself into the middle of whatever conversation they were having. "Did Noa just walk off with Benji Jones? I thought you guys were friends, is she not hanging around ya'll?"

Nika scoffed, "Chill, dawg, Noa's a popular woman, she has friends outside this group, y'know. Why the stick up your ass, P?"

Aubrey smirked, "Ooh, someone's jealous."

"Are you stupid? She's risking our public images."

"Damn. Noa must have a thing for athletes with 5 as their jersey number," KK snickered, nodding towards the way the latter was propped up onto a beer pong table with the football player just a step away from being between her legs. He snapped his finger, turning his head towards his friend at the bar. The man nodded, going to handle some drinks before him. KK sighed in yearning, "Look at her. She's so... out of this world. So rare and out of reach. Girl boo, how your manager got her to fake date you is insane."

Paige furrowed her eyebrows, crossing her arms. "Well, aren't the two of you dating for real? How are you so okay with this right now?"

KK shrugged. "How can I be mad at people loving her? Who can blame them?"
