When I opened my eyes, I looked at my surroundings, I was in an alley in New York. No one was there nearby. I walked outside of the alley and saw a store selling ice-cream and gelato down the street. I was starving so much so I quickly counted my money that I still had from when I went to join the Black Swan. I remember Dex, Keefe, Fitz, and Biana asked for some gelato. I miss them a little. No Sophie! Stop thinking about them. That's in your past. Your past life. Right now, you are not Sophie Foster, the moonlark, the leader of Team Valient, Regent, Lady Sophie Foster, right now you are Julia Robinson. Focus on your new life, your past is something stupid that you shouldn't care about anymore.

I took in a deep breath and then walked to the ice-cream and gelato store to check the menu. I found out that a very small cone of ice cream would be $2.99 and I had $125.00 so I quickly bought a tiny ice-cream cone with chocolate ice-cream. I realized that I can't keep living by eating ice-cream so I took my iPod out of the pocket in my pants and searched up 'grocery stores near me' and found the nearest supermarket.
I walked to the supermarket closest to me which was like two and a half miles by walk. I was so exhausted by the time I walked there especially because I never ate anything the whole except 1 small scoop of ice-cream. It was literally around 5 p.m., and I was getting yelled at before I even got to eat breakfast.
I took a few deep breaths and I walked inside the grocery store. I walked to the aisle with water and got 2 of those single huge crystal geyser bottles. I got some food that should probably last me a while and a small blanket that should help me in the cold. After buying that stuff I had $50.00 remaining. I came out of the store and went back to the alley where I teleported and decided that it would be my home since it had a small roof over it. Then I realized that far away I could see a lot of trash cans with a lot of good stuff that people threw away for no reason. I walked over there and found these slippers that were a little torn but actually pretty good.
