Abby looked at her friends, hoping to see whether or not they were alive yet until she heard the feedback from the stage's speaker, the show lights turned on and the animatronics began to move to 'Talking in Your Sleep.'
"Electricity. Electricity is the key." Vanessa answered as Mike tied a taser belt around his waist while she opened a case and took out a cattle prod. "We use these for animal control." She explained, turning on the cattle prod for emphasis.
Vanessa places the cattle prod in front of Mike. "There's a taser in your belt."
"It won't do permanent damage, but it'll mess with the animatronic circuitry. Hopefully buy you some time." She explained to Mike as he put on his jacket but he couldn't face these things alone.
"Come with me." He asked. Vanessa knew her way around this mess more than he did, he needed her to come with him.
"No." Vanessa answered, shaking her head as she backed away in fear.
"Vanessa, you owe it to me, and you owe it to them." Mike explained, she had to face her demons even if it meant standing up against her father.
"No, I can't! If he's there, I... I won't be any use to you. Believe me." Vanessa said, her eyes holding back tears.
It was then Mike was met with an almost new side of her. She began to shrink inward like a victim, her eyes were so wide that they almost filled up her entire face.
Mike realized what was going on with her. He looked at her eyes, so soft yet scared right now that it seemed like some of her... essence? Life force was leaching out from her eyelids. He saw it clearly now, more than ever before, why she acted the way that she acted.
Vanessa had lived through an even worse trauma than Mike had. She was beyond screwed up by her childhood. She was nothing but a broken vessel for her father to use whenever he wished.
"He really messed you up, didn't he?" Instead of giving him an answer, Vanessa stood there. It was obvious that she was visibly quivering at the thought, the screams of the children ringing in her mind.
"Take these." Vanessa gives Mike the keys to her police cruiser. After Mike gets in the car, he speeds down the road, desperate to reach Freddy's and save Abby before it's too late.
"You need to avoid the front entrance." The memory of Vanessa's voice echoed throughout his head. Chica turns her attention away from her performance and onto Abby, sticking out her hand for Abby and beckoning her over. Reluctantly, Abby stands up on the stage and takes her hand.
"There's an outlet vent on the east side of the building." Mike's palms started to wear down from pulling the wooden board that blocked the boarded-up vent with a crowbar. "That's the best way inside." Finally, after some time, he could feel the splintery boards transition into rusty metal. Bingo.
Upon entering, he could feel how tight it was inside this thing. How was it possible for these things to fit inside of here if he could barely squeeze in? Watching a rat scattering on by did not help him feel comfortable about all of this, not one bit.
Reaching the end of the vent, Mike cautiously peeks through the grate, checking to see if any of those things are nearby. Instead, he spots his sister following one of them as the others continue to perform. "No!" He yells quietly, before hitting the steel grate to try and push it out.
It doesn't budge, so he tries again and this time, it lands straight onto the floor in front of him. Knowing that he doesn't have much time before they catch on that he's here, Mike sneaks his way across the checkered floor. He looks up at the animatronics as he continues, making sure they haven't noticed him out in the open like this.
