Chapter 16 Seventh Elimination

The three couples walk to their next stunt holding their partner's hand. They see Dawson and they are ready to get through the next stunt.

"We are getting down to it. There are three couples left competing for one million dollars. Congrats to Janet & Adriaan for winning the last stunt and the trip to Russia to fly in a fighter jet. Today one couple will be going home by the end of this stunt, leaving only two couples to compete in the big stunt for the grand prize." said Dawson.

Everyone was clapping and were ready for their next stunt. They see a glass box with straps and a pipe on the lid. They also saw a table with a bowl of liquid, a saw, and a tube with a key. They were wondering what they were going to do. Dawson explained the stunt.

"Here is your next stunt. The ladies will lie in this box, strapped down and covered with over five hundred tarantulas. The men will have to rescue them by sucking blended crickets from the bowl and spit it into the tube which will cause the key to rise. Once you can remove the key, you will unlock the saw, and use it to cut through the pipe on the top of the box. Once you have sawed through the pipe, you will open the door and release a marker to stop the clock. The couple that finishes this stunt the fastest will get to decide who goes first in the final stunt while the couple that does this the slowest will be going home. We have randomly selected today's order and Jon W. & Rebecca, you guys are lucky number one." said Emily.

"We are ready for this." said Jon W.

"Let's get it done." said Rebecca.

"Alright, Rebecca, climb on in." said Dawson, opening the lid.

Rebecca got into her shorts and tank top. and got into the box. She put on goggles, a noseplug and earplugs. She laid down in the box and got strapped down to the box. The safety crew dropped the tarantulas on her. She was trying to take short breaths as the box lid closed. Meanwhile, Jon W. was ready to get her out of the box.

"Alright, Jon W. Remember you and Rebecca are going first, so set that bar. Here we go, in 3....2....1....GO!" said Dawson, starting the clock.

Jon W. was transferring the blended crickets from the bowl into the tube, trying to get the key to the top. He was going fast to get his wife out of the box. He got the key, unlocked the saw and started sawing the pipe as fast as he could. He was trying to use long strokes and was making good time. He sawed through the pipe, opened the door and pulled the marker out, stopping the clock. He went to puke while the safety crew got all the tarantulas off Rebecca and got her out of the box. Rebecca was happy to get all the spiders off her and hugged Jon W. for doing a great job. Their time was one minute and fifty-five seconds. They joined the group.

"Good job to Jon W. & Rebecca for a good time. Now let's see if that is enough to get you to the final. Rebecca, you did great. How was it?" asked Dawson.

"That is so hard to focus on breathing with all those things on me but I am glad Jon W. got me out of there." said Rebecca.

"Alright, Janet & Adriaan, you are next. Janet, are you ready?" asked Dawson.

"I don't want to do it but I am going to do it for a million dollars." said Janet.

"I will get you out of there." said Adriaan.

"Alright Janet, hop on in." said Dawson, opening the lid.

Janet stripped down into shorts and a tank top. She climbed into the box and lay down into the box. She put on the goggles, earplugs & a noseplug. She got strapped down and covered with the spiders. Dawson closed the lid to start the stunt. Meanwhile, Adriaan was ready to free his wife.

"Alright Adriaan, remember the time to beat is one minute and fifty-five seconds. Here we go, in 3....2....1....GO!" said Dawson, starting the clock.

Adriaan was sucking the blended crickets from the bowl into the tube, trying not to gag while filling the tube. He almost gagged but he got the key out of the tube. He unlocked the saw and used it to saw through the metal pipe. He was having a bit of trouble but he was sawing pretty quickly. He got through the pipe, opened the door and pulled out the marker, stopping the clock. He went to hurl while Janet was getting the spiders off of her by the crew. They were making sure that all the insects were off her and she was happy to get through it. Janet hugged Adriaan for doing a great job and got her out. Their time was two minutes flat. They were five seconds slower than Jon W. & Rebecca. They joined the group.

"Good job to Adriaan & Janet for completing the stunt. However, your time was two minutes flat. Janet, how was it?" asked Dawson.

"That is so freaky with all those spiders on me but I am glad that Adriaan got me out and I am proud of him." said Janet.

"Jon W. & Rebecca, congrats for making it to the final stunt. Now which couple will join you? Alex & Jenni or Adriaan & Janet?. Alex & Jenni, this is it. are you ready?" asked Dawson.

"We are ready." said Jenni

"We got this." said Alex.

"Alright Jenni & Alex, the time to beat to pick the order is one minute and fifty-five seconds. The time to beat to send Adriaan & Janet home is two minutes. Jenni, jump on in." said Dawson, opening the lid.

Jenni got into her shorts and her tank top. She climbed into the box and got ready to have the spiders on her. She put on the equipment she needed to protect her eyes, nose and ears. She was strapped down and covered in the spiders. Dawson closed the lid and got Alex ready to free her.

"Alright Alex. Start with the crickets, release the saw and free her. Here we go, in 3....2....1....GO!" said Dawson, starting the clock.

Alex was sucking large mouthfuls of the blended crickets into the tube to get the key. He managed to get the key out of the tube and use the key to unlock the saw. He grabbed the saw and used it to cut the pipe to free Jenni. He was using long strokes to get through the pipe very quickly. He got through it, opened the door and pulled out the marker, stopping the clock. He helped the experts by getting all the spiders off Jenni and told her that she did great by keeping calm. Jenni was proud of Alex for doing the stunt without gagging. Their time was one minute and thirty seconds. They beat Jon W. & Rebecca's time by twenty-five seconds and beat Adriaan & Janet's time by thirty seconds. They joined the group.

"Good job to Alex & Jenni for a blazing time of one minute and thirty seconds and they will join Jon W. & Rebecca in the final. Alex & Jenni will also get to decide who goes first in the final stunt," said Dawson.

Alex & Jenni were hugging each other and were glad that they were in the final stunt. Jon W. & Rebecca were also glad that they were in the final stunt as well. Just then, they both looked at Janet & Adriaan and told them that they did a great job. Janet & Adriaan hugged Alex, Jenni, Jon W. & Rebecca and told them good luck in the final stunt.

"Unfortunately for Adriaan & Janet, this is the end of the line for you guys. You guys did a great job and you came in third place. Did you guys have a great time?" asked Dawson.

"We had a great time and wish the final two good luck in the final stunt." said Janet.

"We hope whoever wins this deserves it." said Adriaan.

"Janet & Adriaan, you guys have done exciting things throughout the competition. You guys have been dragged behind a dune buggy, ate very nasty food and had a lot of great memories. We started with nine couples and you made it to the final three couples. You guys are going home with a trip to Russia, two new iPods and twenty thousand dollars. You guys did awesome, but sadly all good things must come to an end. It was very nice to meet you guys. Take it easy." said Dawson, shaking Adriaan & Janet's hand.

Adriaan & Janet took the walk of shame, as they were the seventh couple eliminated from the game.

"I am proud that Janet & I could do this experience together and we will have a lot of memories together." said Adriaan.

"I am really upset that we are leaving but we had a great experience and we would do this over again if we could. Off to Russia." said Janet.

"That is it. We are now down to two couples competing for one million dollars. Congrats to Alex & Jenni and Jon W. & Rebecca for making it to the final stunt. Now let's get out of here and see what the final stunt has in store for you guys. Come with me." said Dawson.

Jon W., Rebecca, Alex and Jenni went with Dawson to see what was in store for the final stunt and see who will win the one million dollars grand prize.
