Chapter 14 Sixth elimination

The four couples walk to their next stunt holding their partner's hand. They see Emily and they are ready to get through the next stunt.

"We are getting down to it. There are four couples left competing for one million dollars. Congrats to Alex & Jenni for winning the last stunt and the trip to Vegas. Today one couple will be going home by the end of this stunt, leaving only three couples still competing for the grand prize." said Emily.

Everyone was clapping and were ready for their next stunt. They see a set of cords hanging over a deep pool. They were wondering what they were going to do. Emily explained the stunt.

"Here is your next stunt. One of you will be bound by each limb and hung above the water. Your partner will dive into the water, find the bolt cutters and cut each of the cords holding you up. You will fall head-first into the water. Once in the water, you will grab a flag to stop the clock. The couple that finishes this stunt the fastest will win ten thousand dollars while the couple that does this the slowest will go home. We have randomly selected today's order and Janet & Adriaan, you guys are lucky number one." said Emily.

"We are glad to go first finally." said Janet.

"Alright, so who is cutting the cords?" asked Emily.

"I will be because I am a strong swimmer and can get her down fast," said Adriaan.

"Alright, Adriaan & Janet. Good luck." asked Emily, sending Adriaan & Janet to start the stunt.

Adriaan & Janet got into their bathing suits and were ready to do this stunt. Janet was lying on her back while the safety put bands on both wrists and ankles. They attached the four cords to each band and helped to lift Janet above the water. Meanwhile, Adriaan put on a pair of goggles and was waiting in the water to start the stunt.

"Alright, Adriaan & Janet. Remember you are going first, so set that bar. Here we go, in 3....2....1....GO!" said Emily, starting the clock.

Adriaan dove into the water, to find the first station. He went underwater, got the cutter and cut the first cord, releasing Janet's left wrist. He got to the second station, and cut the second cord, released Janet's right wrist, leaving her hanging upside-down. He went to the third station and cut the third cord, releasing Janet's left ankle. He got to the last station and cut the final cord, releasing Janet and she plunged into the water. She came to the surface, swam to the flag and pulled it off, stopping the clock. They both got out of the water and put on robes to keep warm. Their time was one minute and twenty-two seconds. They joined the group.

"Good job to Janet & Adriaan for a great time and now we will see if their time stands. How was it?" asked Emily.

"That is so fun!" said Janet.

"I think I did my best to get Janet down from the cords but I hope it's enough to keep us in the game." said Adriaan.

"Alright, Kas & Kathy, you are next. Who is cutting the cords?" asked Emily.

"Kas will be cutting the cord because he is a better swimmer." said Kathy.

"Alright Kas & Kathy, if you beat Janet & Adriaan's time you will move on automatically. Good luck." said Emily, sending Kas & Kathy to have their turn.

Kas & Kathy got changed into their bathing suits and were ready to do this. Kathy got lifted by the cords attached to her wrists and ankles over the water. Kas was ready to cut the cords and release Kathy.

"Alright, Kas & Kathy. Here we go, in 3....2....1....GO!" said Emily, starting the clock.

Kas jumped into the water. He reached the first station and cut the cord to release Kathy's left wrist. Kas swam quickly to the second station and cut the cord to Kathy's right wrist, causing her to be upside-down over the water. Kas swam to the third station and cut the cord to Kathy's left ankle. Kas was getting tired but got to the final station. He cut the cord which released Kathy as she went into the water, head first. She resurfaced and pulled the flag off, stopping the clock. They both got out of the water and were glad to be done. Their time was one minute and twenty-four seconds. They were two seconds slower than Janet & Adriaan. They joined the group.
