Kyros

I drive to the location of the reception, “it's my childhood house.”

She says softly as I pull up and park. I had just picked up from her apartment. Apparently they had said their vowels and kissed already. But something tells me she didn't just forget when she was supposed to be there. After all she is the maid of honour. Not that I minded, I hate weddings.

I begrudgingly take off my seat belt and step outside where you can tell this reception is in full swing. Maybe this event won't be so bad. I start to walk over to her side of the car but she already steps out.

“What are you doing?“ she questions. Looking me up and down. Judging me.

“I came to- '' I closed my mouth. I don't need to explain myself to her. I link arms with her, “come on rose we have a reception to go to.” I plastered a smile on my face. I love the way she squirms when I call her that.

We waltz into the small house, the decor is simple and not a touch of care has gone into it. In hindsight it is a dreary place to grow up in. I look at Darya's face, it's fixed on a kitchen cabinet. I find her name on the table in front of the door. Picking it up and seeing what number we were sat at.

She shakes her head at me, “you really are silly aren't you?”

I stared at her dead eyes, practically glaring, “Pardon me?” distaste layered in my voice.

“Maid of honour, remember I planned most of the events.” gracefully she glides to the expansive garden, she holds my hand as we sit nearest to the front of the house.

“How as the maid of honour did you forget when the actual wedding was?” She looks at me debating whether to reply.  She doesn't.

The wedding is loud with people chatting away, even if she decides to open her mouth to tell me why and how I wouldnt even know what she is saying. The flower gardlens, with an array of pink to white, hang holding latens to illuminate the day as it slowly turns to night.

“You made it,” the bride comes up to us, she notices who I am and lowers her head a bit.

“Yeh I did, sorry we missed the vows,” she's hugging the blond. “This is-” she leads off.

“Kyros ” I shake her hand strongly.

“You brought a date, thank you.” she twirls around her dress, I can't tell who she's thanking but it is clear she knows who i am as he lowers her head slightly.

An older man grabs her waist, a smile creeps out of me. I knew this was going to be fun.
