Now we are sitting staring at each other, longing for the other.
“What have you always wanted,” he asks me.
Love. Belonging. Home. “A dog.” I whisper,”what about you?”
“A star.”
I let out a little laugh, trying not to be rude. “A star!” I look at him with my eyes wide.
“My mother liked stars.”
My breath hitches,” im sorry I didn't know.” I don't know whether to hug him or not. So I put an arm around him. He had confessed that he was adopted.
I turned to him, “What do you think is stronger, love or hate?”
He ponders the question and says, “To hate someone means you must have loved them,”
I give him a side eye, “what does that mean mr. philosopher.”
“Don't be a smart mouth,” he looks into my eyes, the burning wood starts to burn. “To hate someone requires you to have spent time and energy with that person, to care and respect. To hate them they must have done a mistake to great to qualify a second chance, Luce”
I take him words to heart, lying down on the grass he starts to count the stars once again like he had many nights ago. Pausing and stopping and then counting on more.
He drops me off at nine and I invite him in after we hang a kiss, we head to my room.
I wake up encased with a hug for Kyros, I slowly push his hand to the side. Slipping out of the bed needing to stretch my legs. So I decided to get a cup of water, checking the time, it blinds my face. It's five in the morning, I can barely see the sun through my windows. Putting on some socks. I stand up and stretch.
I can hear the bones in my body crack. And I let out a sigh of relief. Flexing my toes I make my way to the door.
Opening the white door to flood in unwanted light into the darkness that encases my room. I rub my eyes, haering Kyros groan at me to close the door,as I hear him turn around. I smile to myself.
Another door opens opposite mine. I look up and see Asher leaving Skys room. I look him up and down scanning him, his hair is dishevelled and his shoelaces undone. In a sleepy state I said to him. “You don’t live here.”
He looks like a deer in headlights, “well I live here more than you,” he bites back, in a playful manner.
“Fine if you insist you can, pay the expenses.”
“I am already doing that, I buy most of the shopping around here.”
Lies. I hissed in my head. I can hear Ky sitting up on the bed because I am taking a while to close the door. Asher walks up to me and he can see Ky through the light in the room.
“Fine if you're so egger I'm going to start sending you the bills to pay and the rent.”
“That is my cue to leave.” He makes a quick get away.
I'm left there stuck in shock, ky comes and pulls me into a hug from behind, “guess tomorrow is going to be interesting,” I giggle as he pulls me back to bed.
