Gina threw her arms around Joanne's neck as she opened the door to her apartment. "Joey, I'm so happy to see you. It's been too long since the last time."

"It's been too long since Christmas, Gina."

Gina waved her off. "You always take everything far too literally."

Joanne followed the little redhead into her new apartment, a chic space filled with modern furniture and vibrant artwork.

Gina spun around, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "So, what do you think of the place? Isn't it amazing?"

Joanne nodded, impressed. "It's fantastic. The view of the beach is amazing."Gina beamed. "Thanks! And guess what? I just landed a new job as Vice President of Communication at the Miami Dolphins!"

"Wow, Gina! That's incredible. Congratulations!" Joanne said, genuinely happy for her friend. They both stepped out on the balcony, a fresh sea breeze hitting their faces.

"It's a dream come true," Gina said, practically bouncing with excitement. "I get to work with some of the most talented people in the industry, and the perks are amazing."

"I'm so proud of you, Gina. You've worked so hard for this," Joanne said, giving her friend a warm hug.

Gina pulled back and grinned. "So, what brings you to Miami? Business or pleasure?"

Joanne sighed. "A bit of both. I'm here to meet with my cousin Frank."

Gina's eyes lit up with curiosity. "Frank? Is he still single?"

Joanne laughed, shaking her head. "You've always had a thing for him, haven't you?"

Gina shrugged playfully. "Can you blame me? He's charming and successful. What's not to like?"

Joanne smirked. "Well, he's definitely still single, but I would like to spare you this family."

Gina laughed. "It's easier to cry in a Lamborghini than in no car, Joey."

"You got me there," Joanne replied, smirking. "I am here to go out. I really need a Miami night out."

Gina's face lit up again. "Absolutely! I've missed our nights out and the best way is to start with drinks. What do you want? Vodka or vodka?"

"A double," Joanne laughed, lighting herself a cigarette.

The two friends spent the next hour getting ready, chatting and laughing as they did their hair and makeup. Joanne could feel the tension of the past few days melting away as she slipped into a skimpy dress and high heels. Despite her outward confidence, thoughts of her meeting with Frank lingered in the back of her mind. But tonight, she was determined to forget about all of that.

They headed out to meet a few friends at one of Miami's hottest nightclubs. The music was loud, the lights were dazzling, and the atmosphere was electric. Joanne felt a rush of excitement as they entered the club, ready to let loose and forget about her troubles for a while.
