My Favourite Versus Matchups

General Grievous vs Dr Nefarious (Star Wars vs Ratchet And Clank)

My number 1 most wanted versus matchup

Connections: both were once composed of flesh and blood like the rest of us who were shafted in their life due to an important green character/s in their lives (The Huk and Captain Quark) who would commit atrocities to get back at them though would be defeated due to their galaxies' biggest heroes (The Jedi and Captain Quark) gaining a grand hatred for them but before they could properly move forward they would get into an accident that would destroy their bodies, forcing them to become cyborgs/robots to survive becoming some of the biggest villains in their respective galaxies, though they would often be defeated by their arch enemies (Obi Wan Kenobi and Ratchet and Clank).

Contrasts: Grievous despises his new body and especially the droids he led seeing them as inferior, only surpassed for his hatred for the Jedi while Nefarious took his new body and its add ons in stride becoming a robot supremest with the plan to turn all other "squishies" into robots, they also have contrasting personalities with Grievous being more serious and Nefarious being a Saturday morning cartoon villain though can get serious when the situation calls for it.

When I planned on making this book I could really think of no better matchup to start it other than my most wanted matchup of all time for nearly 5 years now, no really, I've been a fan of this matchup all the way back in late 2019 before I properly got into versus, mainly because it involves two of my favourite villains of all time interacting which is awesome, plus this is honestly best for both, other matchups for Grievous includes Adam Taurus from RWBY which is sort of thematic but way too much of a stomp for Grievous with Ramattra from Overwatch being a better opponent for Adam and Doctor Octopus is not an option I will acknowledge even with a gun to my head and Dr Nefarious has Neo Cortex from Crash Bandicoot which does work but Grievous is more thematic and gives a cool contrast which could lead to a more epic and funny fight.

As for the fight itself the fight could start with either Grievous invading a planet Nefarious has taken over or the other way around having Nefarious invade a separatist owned world Grievous happens to be on there Nefarious makes an entrance with PRESENTATION! gaining Grievous's attention and after some brief introductions the fight begins, which could start similarly to Ultron vs Sigma on Death Battle by having the two sending their armies out to fight for them but Grievous would soon after jump into the fray himself cutting down Nefarious's forces while on his way to the doctor but when he reaches him to strike him down Nefarious activates his shield to block it mocking Grievous before ramming into him with his jet boots sending the two into a building allowing for a one on one as their forces battle outside. Here what I would want is to display the differences in how Grievous and Nefarious fight and act with Grievous being more serious and go in swinging his lightsabers around in a flurry of blue and green light while Nefarious would be cocky and talking s*** while blasting away from a distance, irritating Grievous to no end who would get more and more angry until the end of the fight when he wants nothing more than to rip Nefarious apart meanwhile Nefarious could start out cocky but when Grievous proves to be tougher than he thought which you can show by having Grievous eat many of Nefarious's weapons and Nefarious becomes more afraid until near the end where he locks in and reminds us why he's the main villain of his series maybe even having Grievous acknowledge it, if he isn't burning with rage at that point. I also want to have Nefarious's large arsenal be shown off not just his own abilities from Up Your Arsenal and A Crack In Time but also the weapons he got in All 4 One all the while Grievous gets to do some cool lightsaber moves as well as showing off his agility with him climbing onto walls and ceilings and even bringing out some of his other weapons like his custom blaster for a mini shootout or his electrical tentacles to try and grab Nefarious if he flies into the air to smash him back down to the ground, there could even be a fist fight where Nefarious pulls up all confident only for Grievous to deck him in the head hard enough to make his head spin around comically before he grabs it and stops it like with the fight scene between Woody and Buzz in the first Toy Story film and for the ending you can have the winner use their innate advantage over each other to win Grievous can use his greater skill and experience in combat to outdo Nefarious in CQC to get the chance to tear him apart like the Doomslayer whereas Nefarious uses his greater intelligence and less orthodox weaponry to lure Grievous into a trap where he then uses either the Omegatech Frost Cannon to freeze Grievous solid then shattering him, using the Arc Lasher or the Thundersmack to electrocute Grievous and maybe make his innards catch fire killing him similarly to how he died in Episode III, using either the Warmonger or R.Y.N.O VI to blow Grievous to hell or simply having Nefarious impale Grievous's heart with his arm blade before grabbing one of Grievous's lightsabers and decapitating him though I would go with one of the wilder ones as they fit more with Nefarious.

As for who will win I have researched this fight myself and I've come to the conclusion that Nefarious wins which is based even though Grievous getting the L is sad and he does have a couple of advantages with Grievous being a better fighter, more experienced in combat physically stronger and potentially faster though its possible both should be equal in speed, but Nefarious has all other advantages, he's smarter obviously and has much better weapons with almost all of them being ranged meaning he can stay out of the way of Grievous's lightsabers and while Grievous can deflect many of Nefarious laser weapons Nefarious's explosive weapons would be perfect for keeping Grievous at bay while doing damage plus Nefarious's cloaker would allow him to get the drop on Grievous with one of his hax-ier like the Frost Cannon, the Arc Lasher or Thundersmack shorting out Grievous's cybernetics or Nefarious using either the Portaliser or the Dimensionator to just send Grievous into another dimension and while Grievous is potentially faster on the ground, Nefarious can fly giving him more control over the battle. Now we get to the most important part of this, the power and durability something you'd think Grievous would have given he tanks explosions, survived an explosion that nearly collapsed the surface of a planet and of course can take force attacks from Jedi who should scale to Yareel Poof's feat of holding an exploding planet together, there's two problems with this, firstly, I don't fully buy Grievous scaling to that feat as there are multiple times he is overpowered by the force, most notably when Mace Windu crushed his chest at the end of the micro series making him sound like Heavy from TF2 with smoker's lung but even if he does scale this brings me to the second problem Nefarious's black hole bulls*** cause Nefarious can take hits from Ratchet's weaponry which would include the Rift Inducer which is a weapon that could create black holes and black holes are very powerful, as an example imagine a black hole the size of the palm of your hand that black hole with its weight and the speed it spins would output dwarf star level+ energy and that's with a smaller black hole  the black holes Nefarious takes are much bigger, coupled with Nefarious one shotting the Loki Master which was able to tank its home planet blowing up in his face and Nefarious definitely takes AP and Durability, also I'm fairly certain Nefarious has endured greater heat than a lightsaber which means we could get a shot of Nefarious grabbing one of Grievous's lightsabers when he locks in, shocking Grievous and giving him a chance to deliver a powerful hit to Grievous.

Overall this matchup is my most wanted for good reason both include two of my most favourite villains from my childhood, it has the potential to many funny and badass moments, the fight could be unique with a mostly melee fighter facing a mostly ranged fighter and is so thematic with connections and contrasts despite who the characters are its not even funny and no matter which versus show does it whether it be Multiverse Match, Fictional Characters Collide or possibly Death Battle if I'm really lucky I would pop off if it is ever announced in any series and so long as they properly portray the characters in how they act in canon and emphasise their advantages other than physical stats in the fight I'd consider it the best episode of that season of the series no matter what other match ups are done.
