My Favourite Versus Matchups

Choo Choo Charles vs The Beast (TwoStar Games vs TidmouthThunderbolt)

Connections: evil spider trains from horror series' based off of Thomas the Tank Engine (Charles is based off of the Spider Thomas videos and The Beast is from the Sodor Fallout AU of the original Thomas series)

Contrasts: Charles was a giant spider monster before shoving himself in a train for protection and has no allegiance to anyone while The Beast was originally the character Oliver who was mutated into a monster by the story's main villain serving as the villain's weapon against the heroes, also The Beast is the goated OG who remains terrifying even to this day while Charles is just a virgin knockoff that was turned into a joke by kids channels over saturation.

Now that I've gone over two of my most wanted matchups which hold very special places in my heart I can now go over whatever matchups I think of and what better then a fight between two giga spider trains from hell, now while I am aware this is a weird matchup at first glance I personally see this as my preferred over all of Charles's other options with other options including Mommy Long Legs from Poppy Playtime, Dj Music Man from FNAF SB and f***ing Christine as in the living car from the Stephen King novel of the same name which is just plain ass, at least Music Man has the spider motif, plus this matchup goes deeper for me as when Choo Choo Charles was announced and I was watching the first Devlogs on it by TwoStar Games my mind almost immediately flashed to The Beast from Sodor Fallout despite the fact that the developer said his inspiration was the monster Thomas videos, and if you're wondering why I don't just have Charles fight that, the monster Thomas is basically featless to my knowledge outside of eating people so no.

As for the fight, an idea I got to start the fight is to have it take place on a dark misty night on the island of Sodor some time after the whole nuclear plant explosion with everything being quiet and serene as we follow a lone engine chugging down the tracks when all of a sudden Charles bursts from some trees in front of the engine looking to make it his next meal as we finally see the engine is Oliver with his concerned face stuck there, until the face slowly falls off revealing the maw of The Beast who charges at Charles with bloodlust-ed fury only for Charles to knock him over without much effort but as Charles approaches to claim his meal, The Beast sprouts its spider legs and the real fight begins. From here the battle would be a brutal animalistic brawl as both creatures beating into each other with their spider legs while also smashing each other through buildings and having the fight take place on Sodor would mean you could have the two fight through iconic locations from TTTE such as Tidmouth station or the Scrap Yard seeing these once child friendly locations having been abandoned because of the meltdown be ruined even further by monsters based off of the Thomas series would fittingly sad given how depressing Sodor Fallout can get, maybe you could have the cult of Charles show up to try and help Charles by firing at The Beast only for both trains to kill and eat them which I think would be darkly hilarious, another thing I would like to see is to have a moment where Charles tries to run after fighting for a bit to recover only for The Beast to chase him down and attack him further causing Charles to attack more wildly in an attempt to try and run away like what a cornered animal would do in that situation, as for how the fight would end I have three endings, ending one involves the fight climaxing in the Scrap Yard where winner is able to smack the loser into a vat of molten steel which kills them in reference to how The Beast dies in Sodor Fallout, the next two endings depends on who wins as they involve Hell Charles, basically someone on the island places Charles's eggs into the temple causing the beam of energy to erupt from it, Charles sees this and books it toward the energy trying to absorb it into himself to hopefully get a leg up on The Beast with The Beast himself chasing after Charles to finish the job before he gets there, if Charles wins you can have him manage to absorb the energy and become Hell Charles using his supernatural powers to beat down The Beast before eventually giving the finishing blow perhaps knocking The Beast off a cliff to when it falls face first onto a large spike like with how Charles died in his game, if The Beast wins however, you could have Charles just about make it to the energy before it disappears right in front of his eyes with Charles having a moment where he shows fear at his one potential method of winning, of living, disappear in front of him before turning around and staring right into the salivating maw of The Beast who uses his legs and tongue to pull Charles's fleshy spider body out of his shell and devour it celebrating by letting out a loud victorious roar before returning to the train tracks and reverting back to his Oliver disguise from the start of the fight and chugging down the tracks as if nothing had happened waiting for his next prey.

As for who wins I'm going to have to give it to The Beast, not out of bias although I do like The Beast more than Charles I just think The Beast has more going for him, starting with stats Charles's best feats in terms of AP and durability is being able to damage the player's train which is able to smash down a wooden wall and taking hits from a rocket launcher which are impressive and are both easily wall level feats however The Beast was able to tank Henry charging into him at full speed which factoring in Henry's weight would equal a kinetic energy in the small building range and taking Newton's third law into account his AP should scale to this and after he tanked Henry's charge he then proceeded to flip Henry over who weighs 130 tons while the best lifting strength feat Charles has is being able to lift up the player to eat them according to his jumpscare, also in terms of speed Charles's top speed is about 50 mph while The Beast's canonical top speed is 80 mph which isn't a massive speed gap but enough to make sure that The Beast can catch up to Charles in case he tries to run and with the massive gap in power that will happen sooner rather than later and keep in mind these are feats from the Sodor Fallout AU specifically, not using any feats from the actual Thomas series which I'm not even sure can be used though as I've shown it doesn't matter. But of course I know what some people might be thinking "what about Hell Charles didn't you mention in your endings that Charles can get it" well yeah I did but to tell you the truth I don't think Hell Charles would be at all applicable for the fight as a whole, primarily because Charles only becomes Hell Charles when the player places his eggs into the alter in the centre of the island which means that in order for that to happen in this fight it would require outside help, something that VS shows typically don't give unless its for very specific circumstances and yes I know I mentioned the cult from the game showing up but that is more akin to the zombies from Leon Kennedy vs Frank West on Death Battle in that they would be something for the fighters to rip apart as they're fighting each other and even if Charles does think to use the eggs to gain power, there's two problems with this, one the eggs are in mines that Charles is too big to get into and also Charles really has no way to carry each of the eggs unless its in his mouth or something and even then he'd likely had to do it one at a time while avoiding The Beast which brings me to number two, as I said before The Beast is fast enough to catch up to Charles and is strong enough to one shot him especially since The Beast's main method of killing the engines is to target their fleshy faces, something Charles also has meaning that The Beast could just target that, after all it is a weak point in the game so it makes sense.

Overall I do like this fight despite the gripes I might have with Charles's over saturation both in the game and with Youtube Kids content farms ruining everything about him but as long as you ignore all of that and focus on the horror aspects of Charles and The Beast then I'll be more than happy with it.
