Y/n's POV

I just got changed into my night pyjamas, when I caught Hermione looking distressed. "Something's wrong?" I asked.

"No. I'm just feeling something off... about the Inquisitorial Squad. The twins," Hermione turned to me completely, "they've caught Filch, Malfoy and his goons following some of our members."

"That's ridiculous!"

"Well yeah. Good thing Fred and George have already made up their mind to play off pranks on that toadface and her group."

"OH!" I laughed, "I wonder what their reactions are going to be."

"By the way, I have a hypothesis..." Hermione started. My brows shot up as curiosity kicked in. She continued, "I think Harry is in love with you."

Silence.

I took a good 5 minutes to process those words. HARRY? IN LOVE? WITH ME?

No.

"That's impossible!" I denied, but a part of me lighted up like fireworks at the mere thought of it, "Where do you get such ideas from? The romance books you read?"

"They're not ideas! I see it, the way he looks at you! And I'm certain you fancy him as well."

"ME?!" I chuckled trying to hide my blush, but it came out as a nervous laugh, "he likes Cho anyway."

"What if it's the reverse? What if he doesn't have actual feelings for Cho, but he has them for you? What if it's only Cho who likes Harry, I mean, let's admit, he's got some fangirls now."

My blood boiled at that. And that pang of jealousy was there. But then again, I had to have this façade of being so chill about everything.

"Those are just 'what ifs'. Don't just assume things, Hermione," I added a sprinkle of frustration to my voice and expressions, hoping Hermione would stop. I guess she got the hint, because she didn't speak anything after that.

I slowly sat on my bed, thinking over and over again. What if Hermione was right. I mean- Harry does sometimes stare at me, and he isn't really subtle about things like that... or am I imagining things?

Am I being delusional? Would it be bad if I made the first move? I thought as I pulled up my covers, will I make a fool out of me? I need to figure things out soon.

A day or two had already passed. And guess what? Right. I still haven't confessed to Harry. Time's running out because again, guess what? EXACTLY! Cho has her eyes on him too.

Presently, we were all gathered round up in the Room of Requirement.

"Today, we're going to be practising all the spells we've yet learned, and enhance our abilities."

Everyone dispersed into different directions, some people were practising the disarming charm, some-the stunning charm, while some were trying way different other spells like diminuendo, levicorpus, reducio, engorgio, reducto and much more.

Something was going on with me today, something different. My eyes couldn't leave Harry's countenance no matter what. And I was concentrating more on him rather than on my own spells.

"Working hard is important, but there's something that matters even more," his voice echoed as the neared me and fixed my wand position, his fingertips grazing my skin. Then he looked into my eyes, smiling "Believing in yourself."

He stepped away and then turned to the others to people who weren't doing it the right way. "Think of it this way. Every great wizard in history has started out as nothing more than what we are now: students. If they can do it, why not us?"
