Harry's POV

We arrived at 12, Grimmauld Place in a span of few hours, with the help of a Portkey. Luckily, Mr Weasley was fine, except a few scars and cuts. After exchanging Christmas greetings, we all returned back to our rooms, until dinner got served.

Although the one point I had completely missed was Y/n's absence. She wasn't here. Neither did I see her the time I was leaving Hogwarts. Did she not... come?

"Harry," Ron's voice pulled me out of my trance, "Mum's calling us downstairs." I gave him a nod, "coming."

While we were walking downstairs, Ron struck up a conversation.

"Bad news, mate."

My brows shot up, "what is it? Anything dangerous?"

"No, no," he stifled a chuckle at my worried look, "apparently, all the Gryffindor Quidditch team players have to stay at Hogwarts."

The fact registered in the back of my mind, and it clicked, that's why Y/n wasn't here. "But," I asked, "then you're-"

"Yeah, about that... Dumbledore let me, Fred and George come back and stay here, to visit dad. I don't know if I should say this, but his encounter was definitely lucky..." Ron admitted jokingly. I gave him a small smile of acknowledgement of his words.

We reached the dinner table.
"Lovely to have you with us Harry," Mrs Weasley cupped my face before patting my shoulder beckoning me to sit down. "Here we go," she announced, as we chose our seats around the table. "Daddy's back. Sit down, everyone, sit down. That's it," she chuckled, "now, presents." She picked up some boxes wrapped and dressed up in shining gift papers, handing it to each one of us.

Everyone of us was content with what we received. Despite everything, my silly little mind wavered back to think about Y/n. Should I gift her something as an apology?

"A Christmas toast," Mr Weasley's voice made me snap my head towards him, "to Mr Harry Potter without whom I would not be here."

Each of them raised their glasses, including Sirius. I returned the smile he gave me.

I certainly did not have any extra time for myself, let alone shop gifts for my friends, but luckily, I had them ordered on owl post. I gifted Ron a broom compass, considering how he recently joined the Quidditch team; and a book on Numerology to Hermione. She said she needed it for a long time, most probably for her Arithmancy studies. Ron gave me an enormous box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans and to Hermione, he gave her a bottle of perfume. As of Hermione? She gifted us both homework planners.

"Why do we need this?" Ron complained.

"Oh please Ronald. You both know very well none of you complete your homework on time."

Ron scoffed, "that's not true!"

"Yes it is!"

"Guys, stop," I groaned in frustration. "All the two of you do is bicker all the time. Do you realise how annoying that is?"

Silence hung in the air. I rubbed my temples. "What are you gifting Y/n?" I asked.

"Well," Hermione started, "I'm getting her a novel she wanted for a long time."
