Chapter 19: The right thing

Back in Italy
Dawson Mansion (Axel's office)

"Daddy" calls out Ariana

"Ariana, what got you to come to my office today, dear?
Also if you are here to talk about the school thing then I can't help you with it in anyway!" says Axel

"No, I am not here to talk about that but about my birthday"

"I see, what about it?"

"As we all know the past 3 years were difficult for everyone, also you weren't there for any of our birthday, but this year you are here with us, so I want something from you, if you're willing to give me; then I shall talk about it?!!"

"Of course dear, what present do you want from me?"

"Just two things.
First, I want a boat house..in New York"

"Consider it done but why not here? Why New York?!"

"Because I am very fond of New York"

"Okay what is other thing you wish for your birthday"

"An army of my own; basically a mini gang for myself."

"A gang? Why? I don't see any need for you to have one of your own?!"

"For protection, and it's my birthday gift so please don't ask any questions about it because I can't answer them. So can I have my own gang or not?"

"You can have"

"Thank you but I have one condition for that as well, the men for the gang will be chosen by me and they will only report me, not you, nor mummy, not Alex or any one else, but me..okay?!"

"Okay Ariana, but what is the need for a gang when you have your own bodyguards?!"

"Yes the bodyguards, who report you about my locations, the people I meet, and everything else, which I don't like. That is why I don't want them anymore. That is the reason I wish to have my own gang, I want privacy dad, I hope you understand me and trust me on this!"

"You will get everything you want princess. I will give you everything but in return I want something from you as well"

"And what is that?"

"Your trust for me. I know I broke it once, but this time I am ready to pay for my mistakes, so trust me whatever I am doing is for your own good, so just keep on trusting me dear"

"I trust you daddy! I always did and I will always do"

"I don't expect you to forgive me already..for everything you know, but we can always try Ariana..trust me we can. We can sort out our issues. And I know what I did in past was a big mistake for you but I did that just to protect you dear"

"No daddy that wasn't a mistake you made, you did the right thing by killing Dominic Perez, he was not good for me, he could never be good enough for me..you were always right daddy..you are always right" and she hugged him and he took her warmly in his arms, making her feel safe in his arms.

Since I am back, today for the first time i felt it was worth coming out of jail. Today I got a little part of my daughter back, this hug means a lot to me Ariana, trust me this is what we both needed for the past month. Put your faith in me dear and I promise to not break it again. I love you Ariana.

And a tear flowed down his eye, having his daughter back, again in his arms, hugging her after 4 long years was everything Axel ever wished for.

"I love you daddy" and they broke the hug. Axel left from there, while Ariana stayed back.
