Chapter 26: Darkness

Next day
In the jet

"Axel..honey you look worried-what are you thinking?" asks Amelia interlocking their hands.

"I just can't believe the fact that my daughter was almost raped a few days ago..if it wasn't of Zacaris and Ryan then maybe something more bad would have happened to Ariana and I couldn't even protect her. What kind of a father, leader am I when I can't protect my own daughter from getting sexually harassed.
I really failed her, Amelia." He sighed and continued,

"Ariana was a very happy and joyful girl, talkative, talented and most of all a very loving girl..one incident changed her life—all our lives. But with Di Giovanni it's different for her..he is getting the old Ariana back, he is changing her for good. How come he is becoming the reason for every good thing happening in our life, right now?" He took deep breath.

"You know I keep wondering when she will know about other secrets which we have kept from her, how will she react then? She will be heartbroken when she finds out that Digio is Di Giovanni and that we all knew about it."

"Don't say that. It scares me whenever I think about telling the truth to Ariana..she will hate us even more Axel..and I am scared what if one day when she knows the truth that she has to marry Di Giovanni, she will leave us..i don't know why but I have a very strong instinct that tells me Ariana will do something big when she will know about the truth."

"I won't let my daughter go away from me..that is why I am trying every fucking possible thing to cut off the deal with Di Giovanni—."

"Sir, mam we are going to land in a few minutes..please sit tight." The attender informs.

Amsterdam
An hour later
Louis's house(at the entrance)

"Boss, Axel and Amelia Dawson requests to see you, should I let them inside?" asks the guard on the call.

"Gladly." And he hangs up.
It would be worth seeing their reactions when they find out that—Chris is also here.

"Louis I am sorry I came here uninformed." Axel apologies and noticed that there was a guest with Louis, having breakfast with him.

"Axel, Amelia..I am glad to have you here. Why don't you join us in the breakfast..old friends catching up after so long..if you know what I mean?!" He winked.
"Chris is also here." Chris turned looking at them, he stood up and met glaring at them and then Amelia walked towards him and hugged him.
"How are you Chris?"

"I am fine Amelia." He responded coldly but hugged her back.
The fact that Chris was also present here surprised them a little but they eventually sat down at the table together.

"So it is so great to have you all here..old friends reunion?!" Louis said smiling at them.

"Louis can we talk in private?" Axel asked.

"What's left to talk in private..we all are friends here..tell me whatever you want too..in front of them!"

"Amelia and I are here to seek your forgiveness. I apologise for everything Louis—I never got the chance to apologise but here I am..I am sorry for killing Lucy, I really am sorry."

"Shut up. You really have guts..don't you? After all those years..showing up at my domain; my house and apologising for killing my wife, now?! Don't..don't do it..because I am not going to forgive you so easily, Axel."

"Louis you know I had to kill her not because I wanted to but because she was getting out of control..you know very well she tried to harm me, my kids, my family-immense of times..so I had to do it."
